Meet Miss Mia
... and her proud Daddy, my "little" Bro:

And with her Granny, our Mum:

Yes, Bro took pics of everyone who held is Daughter, but with his professional cam, you see the reason in these pics, right?
Seesh, at first I was like really uncomfy - after all, her Father was the only Baby I had held before - and he was a bit older than she is.
She didn´t move, sleeping happily.
So I could get used to holding her.
She stretched a bit, but it was an easy job.
Guess after a while she pooped, but at age 4 Days it doesn´t smell that bad, right?
Amazing, those little, yet perfect fingers!!!
Her Mum is well, all is good.
They decided they won´t use titles like "Auntie" and "Uncle", I´m ok with that.
Yep, little Mia, born August 21st, 11:something (37, I think) p.m.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!! She's a little tiny beauty. Sounds like you need to get used to babies...they seem so fragile but really they are quite sturdy for being so tiny!
I hope to see lots more pics of little Mia :)
Congrats again! What are you going to be called if not Auntie Iris?
Iris only... I´m ok with that, though I think it´s not logical.
They met, got engaged, married in church in white.
They invite families for Christmas, all very traditional.
But, well. It´s their kid, it´s their decision...
I prefer kids to address adults correctly even it if Auntie or Uncle just to be polite. Not so much for the liberation of kids and being able to treat elders as equals. Not too upset about that though.
Call me old fashioned.. But call me Uncle Old Fashioned.
I still call my aunties and uncles, 'Auntie Sue' or 'Uncle Bob' or whatever and I also address family friends as Auntie or Uncle as well. Some of them have told me just to address them by their first name since I'm now an adult, but I can't since I'm so used to calling them Auntie and Uncle for so many years.
Like you, I'm not too fussed with the whole name thing, but still I think it would be nice if you got to choose what you want Mia to call you.
Congratulations, Tante Iris :) (even if Mia won't be calling you that, we still can)!
And congratulations to your bro and his wife.
Uncle Old Fashioned, I do agree - it makes family more real somehow. The circle of people you can lean on gets bigger.
But... well. I certainly accept their rules.
So, Sarah, yes, I´m with you.
:-)
Tante MissyBoo :-))
See, Auntie sounds so nice, but Tante?!
But, well, I´ll just be Iris anyways...
CONGRATULATIONS! She is absolutely gorgeous! You are going to be one awesome Aunt!!!
