Frites van Holland

So. This was my first day off. Not until January the 5th will I have to drive to Wolfsburg.
Ingo, though, has to drive to Salzgitter every working day :-(
Some dumb### aka "business manager" told one customer, oh, sure, we can get it done til Christmas!, and drove to his Christmas-holiday-destination.
There are huge problems (new project), everybody has to work between Christmas and New Years and maybe they still don´t get it done. Thanks, big dumbhead, hope your holidays are great!
We couldn´t get done too much either anyways. Too much snow to take the risk and bring in new furniture :-(
So, what did I do today?
Bought a last Xmas-Card and sent it away, got the dishes done, vacuumed and wiped the kitchen (getting everything out and partially in again, chaos still reigns), went to a good pharmacy to get something good (like also an explanation - why are doctors not able to explain?!) against my dry, running eyes, went to the gym (yep, if you´re really careful you can still ride a bike), got home before Ingo.
Who´s sad about his dying coffee-machine.
So... we went into the city. Today! People are mad!!! Christmas came for too many as a sudden surprise again...
Choices for espresso-machines?! Ummm 3-4 only!
The shops are full with Nespresso-machines! God and George Clooney obviously do a great job!
I loooove the ads! Cute and clever they sure are! But even if I still drank coffee, I´d never go for that darn capsules! Heck, people really pay that much money for a cuppa?!
So... we got nothing.
"Luckily" - the lines at the checkouts were endless!
What we got was Frites van Holland (German), the "best" French Fries in town.
Which is true. Just gotta remember next time: normal size is too much, take a small one.
Yum they were!

Labels: Braunschweig/Brunswick, holiday, just me, the two of us, work, yummy
