Double-Half or One Ten without ham

Having (nearly) everything twice, being no longer just one of two in the week. Being a Pizza-lover like no other, disliking ham, hence the new title.

A Kind Of Holiday IV

On to the last part of our little "family-holiday"...

The last day we practically did nothing. Which is hard for me. Bro and Mum are calm people, me… not so much.

The whole morning they had the “Tour d’ Allee” – a family bike-race. The speaker was right in front our window… That poor man… he tried to be so enthousiastic… but there were few people watching, not motivated ones either. Was quite like in the Simpsons-Episode with Kent Brokman and a Mexican commentator, ya know that one? The scene was like Kent would´ve described it, but the man outside must´ve been a Mexican ;-)

We went to visit the sea again.

Another funny.. the other day, Bro stopped in disbelief, watched at the sign of the fish-seller and said Raucherfisch?! (a fish that smokes). Nah. It says Räucherfish, smoked fish, d´uh, Bro! Here they all are:

When you go past the restaurants you may be confronted with a view like this:

And some time later it´ll look like this:

It´s the Tauch Gondel. Fun idea. I didn´t go, though, have seen enough underwater-views ten times better and this one can hold 30 people, too much for my taste, I´m no Sardine ;-)

The weather was great! Near to no wind and the full sun, so we waited for a seat to eat outside. Some guy from Hamburg offered us his table, very nice (guess Hamburg accent is just unique, funny, huh?) – so.. here we were for a .. tadaaa: Pizza!

Even Mum tried a slice. And both gobbled up some ice-cream afterwards (I don´t like sweet things):

On the way back in afternoon-light:

This time I took the stairs, looks like quite a deal, huh?

Was super-easy! Nice idea anyhows: benches:

Can imagine in summer they are used a lot.

Dinner was Bratkartoffeln, hmmm, Bro makes the best! (You call those Home fries?! Nah... Bratkartoffeln really is different!)

Ingo sadly can´t eat them anymore and I´d never make some just for myself, so this was a real treat!

After that we played Canaster. Since about 2-3 years this has become a “Christmas-Tradition”, means: I play that once a year.

So… esp since last Christmas we did not spend together, Bro had to explain it all over again – but he doesn´t mind at all!

We played till 2:30 am or something. And we shook hands we´ll do it more often for as long as our Mum can.

Up early on Sunday cause I had to leave to go home. Whilst the others were still asleep (as every morning), I went to get breadrolls and payed a last, sad visit to the sea:

I´m really so glad we were able to do this!

They wanted me to stay, but I couldn´t. I´ve had 4 weeks off this year already, with this nearly 5 and my colleague is on holiday, too.

They drove me to Stralsund from where I took the train to Berlin and then back home.

I said “see you soon, Mum”. She looked me in the eye, kinda sad and answered “yes, maybe….”

Cancer, I hate you.

None-the-less… I think I can come back to Sellin with good (but sad) feelings one day. It´s really a beautiful place.

You have lovely photos to remind you of this special time you've spent with your mum and brother. Love the pic of them together - really lovely and worth a frame I think. Hugs to you my friend. xx

Thank you, Mandi, yes some of the pics will make to paper and frame indeed. Called Mum today, she sounded quite ok.
Who knows, maybe she can fight it for some time..
