Double-Half or One Ten without ham

Having (nearly) everything twice, being no longer just one of two in the week. Being a Pizza-lover like no other, disliking ham, hence the new title.

So Strong

I took the rest of the week off.
"Last time" Mum managed everything on her own.
Now Bro and I ... wonder how she did it. So much to do and you just feel like running away, pretending it´s not true.

Tomorrow Bro and I meet for Brekkie in his place and then meet the Pastor. The one who mixed up Bro´s name on his wedding. I still have to grin on that one (his FIL was like, "who is T????" like really loud).

This is what will be in the local newspaper in Bro´s place:

"There will always be lines of your life.
pictures, moments and feelings,
that make us remember you
and let us believe
you´re still with us.

In Love and Thanks we take leave from our beloved Mother, Mother-In-Law, loving Grandmother, Sister, Sister-In-Law and Aunt.

In silent grief..."

These are not our words, this is no time to get creative. But they sum it up pretty much. Just about the "silent", aw, well.

The funeral will be on Thursday.

What should the pastor say?
People in Bro´s town say, hey, this is no surprise, she was so weak and getting weaker by the weeks. Cancer had an easy game with her.

Yes and no.
Yes to the first. But not really. She had trouble eating, she was getting thinner. And hence it really was no surprise she could not fight an infection.

She was strong.
Forever I will have two pictures in my head:
Dad sedated and helpless.
Mum on her side, that made breathing a bit easier, taking up her skinny arm to wave me good-bye.

She was a fighter and Cancer had no chance on her, it really was the darn infection in combination with being so skinny already.

Actually she died of starvation and thirst.

But we had asked her and she didn´t want to hang on forever without a chance of getting better.
Dang, still have to print those forms for patient's provision for Ingo and I.

Ingo is in full flu-mode, SIL and Bro are sick, too. Me. All good, except for a racing heart.

On one hand I am thankful she didn´t have to suffer for long. But... ya know.
