I went to the Dino-exhibit like this (see last post, if you like): Walked to the city, bought tram tickets, asked for directions and one of us was dumb but I made it anyways!
Plus: Met so many nice, helpful people!
Way back: Pfft, on foot. The Braunschweig-person walks whenever possible, here are some impressions:
And that´s why we walk :-)
Happy Sunday to you all!
Plates
In Europe, early versions of plates were cut from large, round loaves of whole-grain bread that had been left to mature for several days and then sliced into two 3-inch thick slices. It was not eaten as part of a meal but given to the poor or to dogs."
That would be a great idea, bread. Ingo sure can tear his hair out (nooo)... I broke so much BY ACCIDENT we have plastic plates. Plus a few "good ones" I am mega-super-mega-careful with - don´t ask about all the special glasses Ingo buys.
Stress for me!!!! I am clumsy :-(
We are into Autumn now - can´t wait for Spring - but also look forward to Christmas decorations, too!

To joy - even his tongue is poking out a bit!
Those views of Henry's city make it look so beautiful. I think you need to share more Iris. I think you had a nice walk that day. And I didn't know about using bread as plates. I guess it works. Happy start to the new week and end of the weekend. hugs-Erika

You´re very welcome, Tom! You took me along so often as well!
It’s so nice that you have a city you can easily walk around. Mostly, we have to drive everywhere. I really love the Tower Guardian. Very cool. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
That looks like a nice walk, Iris.
It is snowing here this morning.
Thank you, CJ, I sure am thankful!!! And it was a fun weekend!!
Snow, RedPat?! One guy today ran around outside in a t-shirt!
Oh Iris, it is so pretty there. Looks like a very nice place to walk. Ohhh I didn't know that about plates. Have a nice day today.
Dear friend Iris, beautiful photos. The plates are lovely and Baby Henry is gorgeous and celebrates 🥳 all the seasons, just like I do. I ❤️ love him.
A lovely post and walk and young Henry looks so sweet.
All the best Jan
Yes, Nicole, it is a pretty park and river - to a great Monday!
Too all seasons, dear friend Linda! 🥰
Thank you, yes, must visit again and Henry says thank you!
I could walk there and linger on the bridge, sit on the bench seat...
In novels I have read about stone age times, plates were often the shoulder blades of animals they had killed for the meat, hollowed out bones with the "knuckle" end were used for drinking and horns or tusks were hollowed out and used for storing things or for carrying hot coals from one fire to the next cave or camping ground. Sometimes thick bark smoothed by rubbing with stones and sand were used as plates and hollowed out small logs were bowls. How much is fiction and how much is true? I just enjoyed the books.
Sounds logical to me and much better than plastic!
