With this yummy drink I join Elizabeth´s T.
The journal:
Monday: fK called and now I think it´s clear why my arm won´t heal as fast as the left one did.
I still have titanium in there, a plate, no idea how big how ... anything, but reckon the muscle had to work it´s way around it and that´s why it takes so long.
"See the doc who did it!", she said. LOL, that was 1994 in Hanover. Or 1995? Looong ago.
Frustrating. I slept so much I didn´t hear the clock this morno! This has NEVER happened! But then I was awake felt all 30 minutes in the night.
Of course Ingo presented me with:
To forever lasting!!! On our fingers (wedding-rings from Western Australia´s mines - we had permission in 1999 to even drive through) and hearts.
Tuesday: By accident I lead a meeting with two Austrians and a Czech... I didn´t invite, I gave them work and I ended it. Like a pro.
I´m the trainee. The only woman, too. mSA called me back cause I asked him to.
No matter what I do, I live (happily) in a men´s world! I am happy in private life I have female friends, too!
Wow. Ingo is right. Pepper spray is considered (of course) a weapon and not allowed.
How am I supposed to defend myself???? Stay home?! In what kind of a world do we live in?
Wednesday: mSA got all mad about my project and ran downstairs (in Vienna) to take pictures, videos for me. He called the technical drawing I got from "the King" "beschissen!". We laughed a lot. "Das is doch Kacke! Das versteht kein Mensch!" And all that in that Austrian accent.
fK wanted to see the drawing and had the same opinion.
fK: "We want to save money at all costs!" - sure right!
Thursday: Oh, wee.... invitation from the Vienna-Alstom-boss. We have to evaluate! What did I do??? I told mSA I am not content and off he went. Puuuhhh... They don´t understand the concept of "trainee" - or I don´t!
Webinar, question; How many dpi for a pic to print? - I casually raise three fingers... and AT ONCE the coach, "plus two zeros!" - and laughed (hupps ... I added three). I never print anything, yet I was the only one who knew.
She asked us to leave the cam on all day and she saw everybody at once.
Like back in a real classroom!
Friday: "My" T on WhatsApp. His holiday was fun. Sooo nice - haven´t seen him in two years! He did not forget me! - We text "once in a while".
I go online at Alstom. BOOM - mSA calls at once, tells me all what happened (I was off to the Webinar), shows me his work, says he´ll invite me to the customer´s meeting, I tell him to safe his work "locally", say sorry (he is my customer and I´m a trainee.... we are a team!)
Am I dreaming? THIS is how work is fun!!! I am accepted!!! I so want to stay there.
I.Have.The permission for the test/presentation, yippeeee (it was hard to clarify who pays - it´s not me)! Did you hear the thump? A big stone fell from my heart.
If only all goes well!!!
Weekend: Saturday: Sleep, sleep, sleep and arm getting better! Mummemeile.
Sunday: Igor, Boris, Pavel.... not "German" but a cute fairy tale after Löwenzahn and Die Maus!
City, Mummemeile again, to take pics for Sami - boy, was the city PACKED!!!, and weee... "Iris!" fK&fK - fun surprise-meeting and I got super-yummy tacos later! Still at it - pic to come.

You must have been exhausted and needed that sleep. But those nights that go too fast and don't seem like they were a night-they're exhausting. Little Henry is cute, and I don't even know if you can get a titanium ring here. Hmm. That's a good question to research h. Loving your journal, and happy T day Iris. hugs-Erika
Happy Tuesday Iris! I almost wrote Merry Christmas I am so tired. LOL Your drink looks refreshing. Love your drawings. That is amazing that your wedding rings are from Australian mines! very spectacular. Love the drawing of the frog. Super cute. the little penguin is adorable too. :) oh Holiday's sound pretty amazing right about now. :) Have a wonderful rest of the week my friend! Hugs!
That's a week and a busy one. No wonder you needed to sleep. But it sounds very good. Please remember to think of yourself as part of the team, not the trainee. Both are true, but "team" is more positive. You've got this!
...Iris, I hope that your pains will soon be distant memories. Be well.
Henry says, "Hey, I am a grown Lion! Just in small!" Must ask my Brother if we get titanium-rings in Germany. He was astonished how hard the material is when I asked him to make mine smaller... And, beep, I have something fun to ask him! Hugs and thank you!
I am sorry you are THAT tired! Thank you, the rings we bought last minute, too ;-) Yes, holidays... end of January.... Hugs to that.
Thank you, I try - you are right, we are a team :-)
All much better, Tom, thank you - you look onto last week :-)
It sounds like it was a good week, Iris.
It sure was, RedPat!
Hi, I am glad that you’re treated so well, as so many women are not. I hope your weaker arm heals faster. But at least you don’t have crippling arthritis as I do. It can really limit your ability to function. As for my wedding ring, it’s gold, but I don’t wear it anymore because it’s too tight for my fat fingers and I don’t want to size it bigger.
Good morning, love your journal pages art always good to catch up on sleep-hugs from the lake.
I was always treated well - I am sorry it´s not everywhere.
Arm is on the way up (haha) - let´s see what the years bring... Gold is easy to alter (unlike titanium).
Thank you! Sleep, oh, yes, in the dark half of the year especially! Hugs to you and the lake!
I'm glad your arm is healing.
And that you love the team you are in even if you are a mere 'trainee'.
Titanium rings? That is very special.
You overslept? You must have been very tired that what I say. It has happened twice in all my working life. And once, when I was working night shifts, I woke up at 10 o'clock and in a panic got dressed as work started at 11. Only to discover, when I got outside, that it was 10:30 in the morning! (Oops)
Happy T-Day,
Lisca
Yes for the arm! Much better and yes, a great team at work.
Had no idea titanium is THAT special! Have we been lucky!
Hope I don´t oversleep a second time! Shift working is horrible, I did that, too... only three weeks and that was enough!
To T-Days!
Apple cinnamon mug cake Yum! I love the mug cakes. Henry in the palm of your hand! Happy T Day
It sounds like it was a good week, and the apple cinnamon mug cake sounds good too.
All the best Jan
Titanium is very special. Unlike gold which can be melted and formed into any shape. Love your calendar. Treat yourself as a team player, not a trainee. They will look at you even more favorably. Your drink sounds lovely and your cake has me wanting something sweet. Thanks fr sharing for T this Tuesday, dear Iris.
What a busy week. Glad you got some sleep. You can't carry pepper spray there? I think you should be the boss for your work. Love all of your drawings. Take it easy with you arm. Have a nice evening.
Hoffentlich hilft's :)
You have had quite a week! Seems like for a trainee you are way ahead of the trainers. Good for you.
Sorry about your poor arm. It must be so aggravating for you. Will it ever be right?
I am so hungry right now, that cupcake looks delicious!
Dear friend Iris, I love ❤️ your sketches. I hope your arm feels better.
It was yummy indeed! And little Henry says hi!
Yes to both, Jan!
Being the daughter and Sister of goldsmiths Ii sure know :-)
Yes, you must be right, but my signature says "Praktikantin" - trainee!
I must overcome seeing that!
Nope. You may not defend yourself with a weapon...Nonono, I don´t wanna be the boss! Arm is much better!
Well, I am old! I have experience, yet I must have trainee in my signature...
No my arm will never fully recover, but I have my hand and others are off worse - it´s OK. I still have two packs of the cupcake here, wish I could share.
Dear friend Linda, thank you, arm is better! It´s Wednesday already, hugs!
You are getting so much done, no wonder you sleep so soundly. I will keep my fingers crossed for all to go well for you with the work and wiht the upcoming holiday. I like apple&cinnamon too, but not pomegranate.
I think (thank you first!) that it was tiredness due to the arm´s healing. Reckon it costs a lot of strength... The job is a lot, but FUN, so it hardly feels like work. Na... it is work and with König no fun at all, but the colleagues are great! The drink was just out of curiosity, won´t buy it again, yet it wasn´t that bad.
