Monday: We need to thank Albert Einstein - read Santa was pretty clueless where to drop which pressie before Einstein found out about correct navigation! Reading, relaxing...
Tuesday: The days flow by, we are both still so tired!
21:44 (9:44 p.m) - fireworks. Hello. Are you ...
Wednesday: On it went with fireworks it is like living in a war zone.
Thursday: OMG. 2 seconds in the New Year and... what is wrong with people? How much money do they spend on fireworks? No ear protection lets you sleep.
And fitting: After sleeping in later I watch "Space Time" and it is on Ukraine. Felt like having been there and I could cry watching this.
Flu is back, oh, thank you!
05:03 p.m. - fireworks. And on it went.
New calendar...
Friday: Have a problem with my bank-account. Got help via FB-chat.
The person now wants to visit Australia, too.
Their icon is a lion, yah, guess! They named theirs Leo, so Leo and Henry... they play cards and eat steak.
We sure had some fun! See if problem really is solved (outside Germany you need another card for money, so when I explained I go to Perth, Australia... we got into chatting! No name, think it was a man. And think he thought I´m a man, too, LOL - though actually my name sounds female, no? But I behave like a man...).
Weekend: Saturday: Fire crackers. It never was this bad. And... thick snow flakes! No White Christmas, but when people have to drive to work: Snow!
Sunday: SNOW!!! And... the neighbors. Polite as I am I stemmed and kept the door open for them - they kept the dog away from me in return. The dog looks friendly but I had too many bad experiences and am afraid. Loved the sound of the fresh snow breaking under my feet (cam at home!) - afraid for Ingo who has to drive to and fro work.

Thanks to Ingo who saved our satellite ! And a new super-tablet. My poor Lenovo cries...
Phone rings: Me: "Kaiser" - "Yes, happy New Year, here is Peter, is my Son there?".

ReplyDeleteA bank with a lion? Yes, I know which one that is (I think it's Dutch as Leo is orange).
Fortunately, here they don't let off fireworks but in the Netherlands they do. All night long (and you get fined heavily if you do it before midnight). Also during the day. That seems a waste of money as you can't see anything during the day. I remember in Italy, the first New Year, the fire works scared me no end. Because we lived in the mountains and every 'boom' reverberated against every mountain and had echos. It was very loud and very scary.

Can be Dutch, yes, for Germany they sit in Frankfurt which means I cannot walk in and talk to a real person - annoying, but cheap.

Deletethat snow is beautiful but I know what you mean about driving concerns for Ingo -- or anyone, for that matter. And I hear you on the fireworks. It's like that on the Fourth of July here -- both official fireworks (which are OK, even though they're loud, they begin and end) and unofficial (which I hate and go into the wee hours, despite ordinances.)Glad you got everything straightened out.

All those fireworks, that's crazy! I didnt hear a single one. I think people maybe are afraid to make too much fuss, trying to just get into the new year quietly. Trump already ruined that.
Roast beef, yum! We have beef so rarely, now even no venison because of the disease that killed so many deer this summer. So sad. We have a little still in the freezer, thankfully, but I am using it carefully.
No, Ingo bought beer. He once made some... oh. No. Not again!

DeleteWe didn’t hear anything during the New Year holidays, but it was very cold, so our windows are all double and maybe people didn’t want to be outside anyway. I hope it’s now finished.

Dear friend Linda, yes, the ice... I don´t want to break a bone! And Northern Germans are not good driving in snow. Ingo is a good driver but others... I had to drive to Wolfsburg 16 years I know the trouble. Warm, very warm hugs to you, -5C here! Much love 😘

ReplyDeleteOh, yes, last flight there was a woman. Mask down on the chin and coughing all the time - one row in front of me. Was I scared! Here actually fireworks only New Years Eve!!!! That´s why I was so pis#ed. Use your money for something good, not for scaring animals etc etc.
