(Not) Grill´d - Playalong
It´s funny and great and kind how you can share so easily everywhere!
We got a "Herman´s Burger" on two plates and with a smile, too. It was yum!
Not a class with Grill´d, though, rather still far from that. Grill´d does it with more love, it seems :-)
Awww. When is January???
When I had to go Ingo said, take the cam!, and I did.
A very long time ago I could play a tune. Or two.
Yes. My family owns a real Steinweg (not Steinway) and my Dad made me play.
I hated it! Because everybody could hear me practise.
So, when did I do practise?
An hour before I hopped on my bike to drive the 2 km to my class.
Was enough, the lady was always pleased with my play. I mean... once you can read, you can play, right?
Wrong!
I was... surprise... way too fast.
So. Dad bought a metronome.
And that was it.
I gave up for good.
I cannot dance, either. Beat and me... or us. Pffff...
Ingo once convinced me to buy a cheap keyboard.
But I forgot it all. My brain and esp my fingers.
So... one of the fastest piano-players... aw, forget about that ;-)
Why I still have those books?
They belonged to my Father´s Father (who died of a heart attack at home when Dad was just aged 14).
Can´t give them away somehow.
I´m living in the City of Henry the Lion now anyways!
Can you play some tune?

I was also taught to play the piano when I was quite young, but never played when a bit older. In my teenage years it was fashionable to play guitar, so a couple of my friends and I went to guitar lessons but I don't think any of us learned anything, we went there for the young guy that taught it, lol.
ReplyDeleteBut I wish I knew how to play guitar.
I think with musical instruments you have to practice a lot, otherwise you lose it.
Funny, when studying I, too, started to learn to play the guitar with my (not at all attractive) flatmate.
ReplyDeleteI bought a normal guitar and sadly - I think a "youth"-guitar would´ve been better, I couldn´t reach the tunes very well, so I eventually gave up.
That looks like a fun place! Oh, piano -- I hated practicing and I think my parents were white-knuckled at my recital wondering if I would totally blow it. I sort of wish I'd kept it up. I really admire pianists, especially those who can sit down and passably sight read about anything. Fun at parties. Well, that's not me!
ReplyDeleteSeems like no one liked to practice! And regrets it later in life...
ReplyDeleteI always wanted to learn to play piano but never did.
ReplyDeleteBut it is the practise that you need to do when learning to play a musical instrument.
All the best Jan
Practise, but also motivation, maybe a thumbs up here and there... And fun, Jan!
ReplyDeleteThat's the thing Iris, the expression 'if you don't use it you lose it's is so true.
ReplyDeleteYes, very true, Grace, seesh!
