Let me take you back to our journey from Adelaide to Perth.
There was this young, a bit strange man.
Dressed in style!!!
But always by himself.
I was so happy for him to see this!
But then...
... she just wanted a selfie with the stylish guy.
I admit: I was too shy to approach him, he mostly sat like that on these 3 days.
And it got even worse...
But... I think no worries, he WANTED to be by himself and why not wear proper clothes on the Indian Pacific!!!!
"The Indian Pacific is a weekly experiential tourism passenger train service that runs in Australia's east–west rail corridor."
There was one guy in shorts and barefoot.
I mean... this train-ride is not really cheap, to us it was a once in a lifetime.
The staff knows that most passengers are not "rich" and give their best to give us great service and that dude runs around in T-shirt, shorts and not even shoes.
How ignorant can one be?
Or... maybe that dude wanted to show: I am rich, I can do that every week.
Who knows, I felt sorry for him, too.
Wearing a blouse is a "pain" for me but I did it!
Also because I thought there will be mossies ;-)
What do you think? This train is beautifully refurbished, the service is top-class.
I was having a glass of WINE!!!
The beer was so cold it hurt my teeth - and... everybody (but Ingo) had wine.
And no one was ever drunk!

Note we somehow managed to fill River´s bag Ingo is carrying!
I wonder with what. I only got a mini AUS$ 2-version of the train! Oh! And coolers. But that was that!
... and a nice Sunday!
I might bug you one more time with a video I took - Ingo got a program to reduce the data.
If you ever get the chance... it´s a great trip (especially when you did it in young years in the car, like us in... 1995 - oh boy, a looooong time ago!)

I have not dressed up in years and years-but I agree in that situation-it is fun to dress up for something special like that. you both look like you are "out on the town"
ReplyDeleteI had watched on tv a show about train rides like the one you took but here in the usa-they always showed amazing food I would get major motion sickness though so could never go.

ReplyDeleteIris; I would love to take that trip one day in the future and I wouldn’t dress up in old fashioned clothes like that one man, but certainly I wouldn’t have bare feet either! Just my regular clothes I think. When it gets to Perth, does it begin the return journey the next day? Or would I have to find a place to stay for a day or two?

River, I wore my summer-Gurri and a mediterranean dress, both jersey, both pressies from Ingo.
Nothing too fancy but appropriate, I´d say.
I´m not sure but since they cleaned the train straight away I think it went in the evening direction Sydney?
With new staff, I reckon...
But if you have to stay a day or two.... Freo is just around the corner ;-)
I was hoping you wouldn't have another cold summerlike last year. were you able to see the huge full moon? It's gorgeous I don't have a working camera at the moment
ReplyDeleteIt´s still sadly too cold and we live in the heart of Braunschweig, a larger city, so... not a chance for the moon with the light-pollution... You have to make a choice, huh.
