You have to pack your grocery YOURSELF!!!!
You need to BUY or BRING bags!!!

Hilarious! I couldn´t stop giggling! ALDI is still there, same concept. And they have self raising flour, which I took home - here you cannot buy this. Yes, you read that correct, you need to make it yourself or import...
I had to laugh at that person, but how do you walk in the wrong way?? You go in through the entrance, nothing wrong with that. I have to catch a bus if I want to shop at ALDI, while Woolies is a seven minute walk and just across the main road from Woolies is Foodland, the BEST store. Most of the time I shop there now.
ReplyDeleteWell, you walk in on the left side, clockwise. In Germany/Europe it´s anti-clockwise, to the right. It was fun to see how people were confused in Joondalup!
DeleteIt´s the same when you´re on a public toilet. You turn the knob the other way round as we do - each and every first time I do it wrong.
When, as pedestrian, I at first look both ways to make sure I don´t run into the car. You have to look right first, here: left.
After 7 months Australia I took off from Ingo´s Grandma, turned right and ended up on the left side of the road - WRONG! You always have to tell yourself: The steering wheel must show to the MIDDLE of the road. "Fun times"!
Oh, and our little SC has both now, Woolies and ALDI. I prefer Woolies. I never saw a Foodland. Is that typical South Australia?

DeleteIt's never too cold to visit a museum. Most of them are climate controlled not for the patron's comfort, but the art. There isn't an Aldi's near me. So worried and sad for Ukraine. How will it be rebuilt especially when IL Douche will rape the country by forcing Pres. Zelensky to give up the valuable minerals of Ukraine. Shameful.

I went to Aldis last week (here the go right as you come in the door)...and it's a quarter to get a cart, returned to you after you push it home after emptying stuff in your car. I love them, but it is a far drive to one now, since the one near the river was flooded in September. We're hoping it will open again.
ReplyDeleteYes, entrance right is USA, Canada?, Europe. Reckon apart from Australia maybe also New Zealand and Great Britain, with the clockwise-thing? India? I think here the trolley/cart accepts 50 eurocent and 1 and 2-coins, but I rather take a basket.
DeleteIt is all supermarkets here that you bring it back yourself, since... 20+ years? Ans I cannot remember your groceries getting packed. Ours is 10 minutes in walking range.
Can't wait for you to visit the museum in summer. We don't have an Aldi here but my daughter does where she lives and that's where she shops.
ReplyDeleteIt´s a very, very small museum only.BUT! Near Botanical Gardens, so if that matches with opening times, I´ll check. ALDI is 10 walking minutes from here.

Rick loves Aldi. It's his favorite. Boy, there is a HUGE dif between the Aldi store in London and the ones here. Here, they are a bit on the dingy side, known more for their cheap food. London's store was really quite beautiful. And by comparison to the others we visited, more inexpensive as well.
