Which, in itself is a good thing, no question. Just... it´s useless, just look at what China, India & Co do.
Still I do. Or rather, I try.
When I came to the grocery store with all those damn bottles two students were already there.
With 5 huge bags full of empty bottles, and I mean huge bags.
So I took the stupid stuff home again.
Certainly with more - full - bottles in my bag.
But what really was weird: The dude in front of me - who I thought at first was so cute, wearing a red Elmo-Shirt - he´d grabbed something wrong and wanted to change - after paying, certainly!
And what did he do?
He left not only his bag at the cash-out... he left his purse!!!!
I mean... I didn´t take it and probably you see I´m an honest person, but really???
Very likely passport & Co were in there as well...
And when he came back he didn´t go like "OMG I forgot my purse here, and it´s still there, hurray" - no. He just took it.
Drugs? Stupidity?
I still shake my head in disbelief!
I can't remember, do you get a cash refund for bottles? Here, except in South Australia (they get 30cts per bottle), we just dump them in the recycling bin.
ReplyDeleteIt´s not you can´t remember, 2003 or later it was established here. Guess often it goes to the regular rubbish as well.
ReplyDelete8 cent for glass and I think 15 cents for plastic bottles. But not all plastic/glass-bottles - typical German :-(
We recycle everything we can. It's so worthwhile, even though it does take effort.
ReplyDeleteYes, we do recycle - but 5 huge bags is too much for one time, there are other sustomers, too - what were they thinking? Guess students these days don´t think...
