I just learned of a new organisation, the Tiny Tots Science Corner. They help children in daycare to experience nature and technology in a fun way - a great idea, I think.
You wonder why I am interested in this? In the national competition the price went to my town (german) :-)
The 3-6 yo´s built a lava-bottle with water, oil and sand. They were to experiment with the different consistencies of the ingredients. Next topic will be "air", sounds exciting.
70 kindys in town join the project, 2000 all in all in Germany, isn´t that great?

A lava lamp with sand and water? I wouldn't know how to do that. I can barely figure out how to add a new electrical outlet.
Lava-bottle, sorry, my fault! I have so many lava-lapms, it was an automatic move!
