I´m A Papa
Went to my family-place today. First stop, though, was the Hospital where three of us were born (I, Bro, Niece, in that order) and Mum died.
I wanted to thank the team of the intensive-care-unit with a gumbaer-Pizza, cause they cared so well, they were just great, full of respect and if you can say so, love.
Didn´t do that well. The unit was under construction, I had to ask for the new place and it was a bit too much. Didn´t meet the original staff but guess the "Pizza" will find it´s way.
Notary: He´ll do the best he can, won´t bore anyone with details.
Pic above? Max and Moritz, who managed Seven Boyish Pranks. Their "creator", Wilhelm Busch lived 10 km from there and hence those (very ugly) figures.
Right there we picked our lunch:
Maybe you´ve heard about those numerous scandals concerning Doener and old meat - well, here at Gabar it´s fresh meat. They won several prices, they´re open Mon-Sun, 11 am - 11 pm, always crowded... Y.U.M.!
If you know me (see title), I´ll have the other half tomorrow for lunch (yes, it´s ok cold, too).
Bro had to refill his car (which I had to before, too - 1,68 Euro/litre!!!), I went to Niece`s place alone.
Poor little fella is home sick again, all snotty and had just gotten up from her nap.
She stared at me for a long time.
Then Bro got home, she went all smiles, running up to him, "Papa!!!".
Oh, she started talking, I thought, yay!
It took her a while, then she gave me all smiles, came over, poked me in the cheek and exclaimed... you guessed it, "Papa!!!"
Smiled proudly, pointed to her Mama and... Papa!!!
Must be rather frustrating to be a Mama, huh? Another word she can exclaim clearly is: Nein!!! - she gets a "no" darn often ;-) - And for a reason, I have to add.
She even came running into my arms several times and wanted to be picked up! Or just get a cuddle, how sweet is that?
Did she remember me after all? Or does she "just" like me?
(Remember... she is sick, feeling not all that well - how is she like when being all ok and healthy?)
She understands a lot! She is 19 months now. I got up to go and she pointed to the door. Then to my backpack - which I took, went out and put into her stroller (for my convenience).
That was not funny!
I explained to her that this was mine and going home with me (pointing to the door, too), put it back and showed her I need my coat first. We had some longer "conversation" about it, but then she let me get my coat.
And went to the stroller to handle me over my backpack! Wow! Huh? (proud Auntie-talk, I know).
I waved her good-bye and she insisted several times I wave good-bye to her Papa Mama as well, again and again. We all hugged, waved and on the road again I was.
Dad would´ve turned 74 today. And it was a day of heaps of smiles for a change.
Oh, and I brought home a Pizza, too. Half I had for dinner today, half I´ll have tomorrow.
Nah, I don´t go entirely for Junk-Food now! See, I take to work also this:
Ugly Max and Moritz, in front see Gabar :-) Bye, bye for now.
Sorry, no pics of Niece. Guess she wouldn´t appreciate pics of her being snotty and sick, right?
