Actually this is about Calvin, aka Bill. Well, and Hobbes.
Stuffed tiger Hobbes comes to live in Calvin´s imagination and is his best friend.
The following pic, though, shows Ingo and me at Queens Gardens.
LOL. We were on the CAT (free bus system in Perth) - Ingo sat on the other side and Sami asked me, "have you ever been to Queens Gardens?" - in my defense... I could not see it yet, so I said, "nooo...?" - we were on the way to the NEW stadium, the Optus Stadium.
We hopped off, Ingo followed and said, "why?".
We turned around the corner and BAAAHM.
Yes. Been there.
Bad experience, though. 2017. We took the CAT, Ingo and I, not aware there is some... Cricket-game or such and the bus got full to the brim, we got seperated, but I managed to get off in time, and was in.a.bad.mood.
I hate getting my picture taken in general and turned away when Ingo clicked at Peter Pan with me.
Now, this was a muuuuch better experience!
Sami took a nice picture proving we´ll never, ever grow up - just like Calvin! And Peter (fun coincidence, that´s Ingo´s Dad´s name, Peter).
We bought these books somewhere in Australia, likely Broome, in 1999, I also found this "bookmark".
Chicken Treat was a treat back then...

Having no kids I never grew up, I reckon.
I often didn´t think I go to work, but "remember to take this to school... ummm... WORK!"

Love this post Iris. I was a teacher for 33 years so never had the chance to grow up properly you know like working in the adult world. I'm sure I read somewhere that "Growing old is mandatory but growing up is optional" I certainly think my hubby has stuck to that rule lol! Hugs, Angela xXx

I will never grow up. I might grow old and senile, but in my mind, I'll still be a teen. LOVE this post and Peter Pan who also didn't want to grow up.
I miss Calvin and Hobbes. But best to go out while you're on top than to linger around forever. Hi and Lois, I'm looking squarely at you.
I didn't grow up, I just grew older. I love Calvin and Hobbes and earlier this year I bought the complete set of the Calvin and Hobbes books as a gift for the youngest of my four children, who has been a fan of Hobbes since he was three. He is 38 now.
We still get Calvin and Hobbes comic strips in our daily newspaper and I cut them out and stick them on pages in a binder to read when I feel sad.
Elizabeth! Don´t make fun of getting senile, that´s the point when I want to fall dead ;-)
And that before I grow up, too!

Oh we do have to grow up Iris, but never lose our inner child, that's the secret 😉 The Peter Pan sculpture in Queens Garden is one of my very favourite, so many delightful details 💙

Peter Pan has always been one of my favorite stories. I love it so very much! And then Calvin and Hobbes -- what's not to love? In fact, Kid Greg asked for the C&H boxed set for Christmas. But then, Greg will never grow up either!
Shame on me I had to look up Kid Greg! But, yes, looove the story of Peter Pan! Especially the movie with late William Robins.
