Sunday: I enjoyed the steamy heat inside. Ingo cooled himself down with a dehumidifier - no - I don´t want that! Cold temps will be back soon enough!!! I am thankful for the heat!

Liebe Iris, du scheinst mit den aktuellen Temperaturen ja gut zurecht zu kommen. Für mich geht nur Badeteich mit Schattenplatz oder im verdunkelten Zimmer neben dem Ventilator sitzen und mich zwischendurch immer wieder mit Wasser besprühen. Aber natürlich muss ich manchmal trotzdem zu Unzeiten raus, z.B. um unsere Pflanzen zu retten (=gießen), Besorgungen zu machen etc. Ich trinke derzeit übrigens nur Wasser, Wasser, Wasser. In rauhen Mengen...
Komm weiterhin gut durch die Sommerhitze!

Australian-proofed, liebe Traude ;-) Dafür leide ich von Oktober bis März unter der Kälte. Der Keller unter uns hilft da sehr, es noch kälter zu machen, leider. Deine süßen Bären habe ich schon besucht, ein toller Trip! Alles Liebe und komme "gut" durch den Sommer - immerhin habt ihr einen Badeteich. Haben wir zwar auch aber es ist Aufwand, dorthin zu kommen - Stichworte Hand und Rücken... Jammern auf hohem Niveau....

Oh goodness...you're dealing with the same heat as we are. We are in an extreme heat warning. Today is supposed to be a bit better but I see no breeze moving the trees so I have little hope.
I've started going to bed with an ice pack. It cools me down enough to fall asleep. Maybe you can try that.

Woe! That is hot! Here the hottest this week will be 33 degrees C. That is quite pleasant. I. like you, quite like the heat. I'm comfortable, and as it cools down at night, I have no problem sleeping. And I haven't used the air conditioning yet.

Good luck with ending the heat wave. We keep reading about it and it sounds like my childhood in a very hot, humid climate before homes were automatically provided with A/C — and we did not have it. We had a fan, which was ok if the night cooled off. I understand that this European heat wave does not have cool nights. So I really feel sorry for you. Ihope you get over it soon.

WE're getting the hot weather this week too. It's too humid (and hot) for me so I wish I could send some your way. And your Sprite cans are different from ours, but I like them. And it's great to see your journal. Thanks for reminding me I should watch Toy Story sometime. I've only seen the first one, and that was a long long time ago. I don't like extreme heat like when I was younger, back then it didn't matter what the temperature was, it was all just normal for us in the mid north where humid didn't happen and the beach was five minutes away. Now I am old and Adelaide humid is torture for me, so I am glad to have airconditioning to keep cooler, but only in the living room, it doesn't cool the bedroom unless I run it on "high" speed 24 hours a day and I can't afford that. So I cool my bed with a frozen dry towel when nights are too hot. Good to read your back is slowly getting better.

I am very happy that the extreme heat has disappeared here in the Netherlands now, because 34 degrees was very bad for my body. It is 25 degrees now and much better, but higher temperatures will come again. It is more comfortable where you are. I don't use AI because a lot of it isn't right. I am for pure, just like nature is. Greetings, Tine

When we still lived at Ingo´s Grandma´s place under the rood we sat with feet in a cold washbasin and wet towels around our shoulders... Only 18C right now :-(
