I just found this article from a long time ago. Seesen is my hometown and my Dad was the first to offer the service of giving you the exact, the atomic time - and, as the article says the signal comes from Frankfurt and is permanently controlled by the PTB, that is certainly situated in... Braunschweig :-)
Guess there was always a connection and it´s no wonder I ended up here! :-)
Sadly I really have no idea from when the article is.
The ad at the bottom says:

Well. My Dad also was an audiologist, an ophthalmic optician master craftsman, as my Bro is, and a goldsmith (as my Bro...).
I just wonder why this is missing in the ad?
Anyhows... it´s not only Germans in general who are in time.
You have to forgive me for my extreme being in time, you just saw how I grew up, no? ;-)

Atomic clock? Must be filled with high radioactive waste! (No problem for people around Braunschweig) We have the ASSE, an old mine with at least 126.000 barrels of nuclear waste! The mine is unstable, water brakes in. (metal + water + salt = no problem!!)
