Perth 18/02 - Take Me Home

Today we were pretty lazy, too, and mind you, working with the Australian and German keypad in turns drives me nuts by now! ;-) Give me a „z“, give me a „y“...

Anyhows, tonight we were meant to meet up with Mark but somehow it went wrong… well, anyhows, Ingo ended up with his very first Italian beer at Il Padrino, a place which, to our taste, did not make it to Perth´s Pizza #1, sorry, Mark! A good excuse to keep looking for that, though, no?? :-)

A tad sad about the missed meet-up we made our way to the Moon and Sixpence near Rainye´s place, which was full to the brim.

In the pub Ingo asked the guys from the next table to take a pic of us and sure as hell we got photobombed! :-)

Turned out they´re all former workmates, used to meet once a year, now twice and we were invited over.

I am glad I got my Father´s genes this time.
I stayed calm when the words „Holocaust“ and „Kristallnacht“ fell.
I did not run away or say harshly I do not want to hear about this no more.
I stayed calm. I explained the obvious.
My parents were kids back then, their parents bla-bla-bla and we peacefully ended up with yes, he wasn´t German but Austrian, he had brown hair, brown eyes, not „arian“ at all, time went by and we´re ok to be around with.

Guess it was just the one guy, the others probably were ashamed of it all.

In the end we had fun and when Ingo said we gotta go and catch train/bus to Wanneroo we found out one couple lived just around the corner and took us home! Certainly only after assuring me the wife had no alcoholic drink and is a very safe driver ;-)
