Reckon maybe you´ve heard about Evoni Williams.
If not, she´s a waitress earning money so she can attend college.
An elderly man told her when being served his hands and arms don´t work well anymore.
Evoni did what we all would´ve done, right? Busy or not she cut his food to help out.
One woman thought that this gesture was extraordinary, the whole thing went viral - even here in Germany!
A day is named in her honour and she got $16 000 to start studying.
I´m very, very happy for her, yet I´m sad this is such a big deal these days!
I mean... isn´t this what you naturally do, help???
Obviously not, not in the US, not in Germany, how sad.

Yes, it is what we are supposed to do. I think the negative gets shown so often that people are happy to see a kind act.
Yes, that might be true. Still it is extreme, I think (good for the girl, though).
It seems that little acts of kindness are extremely rare in US Iris, definitely #45's fault 😀😀 I think even she was surprised by all the fuss. I agree it's what most people would have done.. or maybe not?

I think probably a lot of people would help anywhere in the world, they just didn't get filmed or noticed or their act of kindness didn't go viral, so no one hears about it, and they don't get rewarded either...
It's nice that her good act was recognized and she is being rewarded, I suppose just her lucky day and it's good she's using the money to study.
I hope you are right - after all I know a lot of people who´d done just the same.
I hope I would help because I am old fashioned too and taught by my mother 'Do unto others as you would have them do to you.'
People nowadays must not feel that neighbourliness anymore.
Still, what a surprise for this girl!
I read an article about schools these days here. Kids aren´t taught values often at home anymore... I´m glad I´m old-fashioned, then!
