I might've told before I was banned from the kitchen after I threw a fit when a fresh ale (in pieces already) jumped out of the pan and danced in front of me, I was 5, I guess.
Over time I (long gone from home) enjoyed cooking shows, be it Tim Mälzer or Jamie Oliver.
Especially the latter.
I started with his 15-minute-shows and by now, pffft...
I have confidence!
I need no recipe, I just do. Doesn't look that bad, huh?

But... whilst my Brother was taught how to cook I was not.
Ingo loves to tell how I (tried to) make Sauerkraut-with pineapple even, ready to go, from a can.
It said "Heat for 5 minutes". Hello??? Boy, that was crunchy!!!
I did mention Jamie, right?
I read his books and when a recipe seemed tempting I got everything needed, watched the DVD-session... you get the idea.
This man helped me big!
I just cook around now :-)
And it's always (mostly :-) yummy even!
I needed pepper for the last one and passed by this:
Aww, no?
As we are German we do not drink wine so goulash it will be next (we do have a wine opened in early December, guess it has to go?)

I don't like sweets and haven't tried it yet, but if it says "Miele"it has to be good, right!

You're certainly a big fan of Jamie, so many books and dvd's :)
I also like recipe books, but don't make much from them, just tend to make the same things over and over.

I think I saw cauliflower in there -- not sure on the others! I love to cook and I think you cook far better than you say you do! I'm glad you've discovered it and now find it fun! You're making wonderful, inventive dishes that sound delicious and whether they come from Jamie or not, it works!

Ingo is a lucky man, lots of yummy looking dishes there Iris. You aren't alone in the being nervous to cook for others, I love it but I know so many people who freak out at the thought of it 😱
No, Grace, I cook with oil, so... just for me - at least at lunch, so he doesn't have to see it! :-)
