From Elizabeth Quay I walked back to the City of Perth via Howard Street on March 1st this year.
All those glass facades allow to see both, old and new architecture in one, I like this.
I certainly also passed by sculpture "JUDITH".
Judith Fyfe lived with her family in the same house as the artist and her parents allowed the nine-yearold girl to sit for her.
She was made of clay, in the midst of the great depression, to which WWII added.
The sculpture was cast in bronze and exhibited in several places before moving finally "home".
When she was unveiled there was lots of protest - a young, naked girl like that in public! There were outcries like "Think of the Children!" - maybe that´s where The Simpsons took it from? ;-)

Howard Street on the way up to the Terrace has super reflections, as seen here. I do look at this lovely sculpture whenever we walk past. Hard to imagine there was such a fuss ☺

The Judith is beautiful. And I love that the inscription is also in Braille.
The "children" will get over it. I wonder if they ever thought of the Renaissance children and Michelangelo's David???
