My life is still uneventful, so I simply share the "somewhere"-series, what do you think?
Australia is such a wonderful place - like others, too, don´t get me wrong, please, just pop over here and you´re in awwww.... for example... when it comes to the out-of-town-thingies.
We so enjoyed to be alone... well you´re not alone (blowies.. and other insects!!!!!), but you don´t have the noises that you have all the time in normal life, it´s... quiet.
It´s quiet for your ears, your eyes, your mind.
No distractions.
You just can enjoy it!
I don´t need to party, this is what I need - a silent time-out.
People say I´m a "loner" and maybe I am at times - so what?
People who can be by themselves can also be perfectly happy, don´t you think?
And it never gets boring, see...
We traveled the Outback of Australia a lot in 1999, it was the best time of my life.
If I´d had a proper cam I could show you our nights... The Southern Cross, the un-light-polluted sky, it was... beautiful.
These days a cell, a smartphone, whatever you call it, might do the job, but technology back then... no.
It´s all in but my brain.
Let´s hope my brain keeps it, these are the few pics I have!
Yes, this is what we did for months.
We drank a lot.
And once...
Such a drink fell out of the car and rolled under it... I was in.. "huh?" ... but I was not alone!!!
This is a huge tin of icy-cold veggie-juice (we drank beer, too, Emu, mostly).
I was "in vain", bending down, looking for it (oh, come on, there is no store around the corner there!)...
When I heard someone following me - and it was NOT Ingo!!!!
In the middle of nowhere I got a helper!
This Magpie - tiny as it is - copied me.
It followed and whenever I bent down and turned my head to look under the car - she/he did, too.
You have never seen a (wild) more disappointed bird when I relieved the tin!!! 🤣🤣🤣
Which, back to #11 helped us drive on in Aborigine-land - Ingo fixed our exhaust-pipe with this!
It was loud, but it worked!
Oh, Henry 🦁 - don´t you be jealous... We had friends in Braunschweig, but never met YOU!
To travel, adventure, freedom! And....
Our home... we called him (in German cars are male) "Baby" - he was so huge... awww... and cute. And you could always rely on him. He was fun to drive. Especially when we were by ourselves, Baby and I 🧡
(and yes, the time-stamp is real. My face and hands give me bad dreams and hence I´m up...)
And if you look close... the sticker of the Braunschweig Lions has a little Henry there (but we just went to the footy back then).

Nothing wrong with being a loner. I am one too, I like being by myself.
LOVE your photos, I've been out there, I once worked on a sheep station for a few months and the surrounding area looked a lot like that.
we fixed our exhaust pipe with a can too, but ours was a coke can, back in the days when they were steel and not aluminium. K would drink a can of coke (cola) and I would hold the empty can while sitting without shoes, when I felt the floorboards getting hot, K would stop and let the car cool down, then crawl under, remove the burnt out old can and fix the new on in place with a couple of "U" clamps. Then he would drink another can and we would go on. We eventually came to a town big enough to have a proper mechanic with proper supplies and got the exhaust pipe and muffler replaced.
I am a loner too and I love the quiet for my ears, my eyes, and my mind.
I find such quiet in the ancient hamlets around my home town.
River, owwwww, and awwww...!
The latter to the sheep! The first to the heat!!! I once on a company trip drove a mini-speed-car on a race track and... HOT!!! Never again!
