T STands For TP And A Second MouTh

Let´s go backwards, shall we?
I have... too much food. And too much time. And I learned to cook and bake hence.

Crispy at least... just why did I buy...

 ... fatty bacon?! Ewww. SO.Much.Fat.
But... bought, prepared, eaten. Thank you, Mum. I pay for "failures", I do not waste food.
And I had to take care of the pickled gherkins. And the eggs.

And let´s get "deeper"....
In these crazy times you see peeps with TP ALL.OVER.

So, Corinna...

I bought cheap oil pastels and .. .when you see "Corinna" in the news every evening. Every. With numbers. Since two years...
They show the darn virus as this grey ball with red "thingies".

I needed to get it out!!!

And got TP and the Singer sewing machine out.
Yes. I bought this summer-toilet paper...

"Summerly smell" - all we got from this "summer" is TP!!!!

... or do you prefer flowers?

Back to "summer". TP and "yummy"... hm????

Ingo brought a cheapy, that´s what "they" see at work...

Even the Singer could not take it!

These...

... do peeps really buy such earrings?!
And wear them, too???
Well. We need to laugh about the craziness, right.

The weekly...

Monday I had... well - see start: eggs with that bacon. Tastes great but smells so icky - I left it  in the pan for as long till the fat got crispy. Too much energy wasted. Put the rest after ripping off the fat into a dish I´ll show you next T-Day.

Tuesday called Wee One on her Birthday (7). She was having cake so blabber-mouth was done quickly, LOL. Having the biggest piece (the info I get...!) is much more important, of course. Sent a parcel to a person who helped me big and wanted no money.

Wednesday... baking with where the rest of the bacon went and the sewing you saw above. It was really fun! Why didn´t we learn sewing can be fun at school? There it was plain horrible.

Thursday my real-estate man called me yet again!!! My parcel had arrived 😁
Other just reading and Sport, same went for Friday.

Saturday Ingo went to the market. In the dark. I was to sleep in. With Corinna it makes no sense to go with him...
No pumpkin he brought home. The market guy said: No. They are crap this year, I don´t sell any. They chatted because he knew ... saw whom he was talking to... no masks in the end.
DISTANCE!!!!
It was but 4C / 39F,  brrr...

And I made kale, the first of the season!
My T certainly informed me he´s had it the weekend before. Bah. LOL.

Sunday: Die Maus and Footy. This is the second year we are to watch American Football on German TV!!! I still dance when I see it!
Imagine.

Huge screen in a shopping Center in Joondalup, Perth.
Footy on TV and two guys standing there, hands closed to fists, arms moving, so excited, watching.
Yep, that was us! 🤣 We were the only ones.
And now we have that RIGHT HERE!!!!

The quote at the end says: "A big person is who does not loose his childish heart".
I might be small by height, but... HEY ... I AM BIG BY HEART!!
Just ask my "lille" Bro - I drive him nuts at times... I´m childish...

Well, and maybe you´ve seen yesterday´s post.
Hilarious.

For hours yesterday I did have a second mouth indeed.
Called the bakery 06:38, had some kale for brekkie, went to real (shop) to buy a Halloween-ghost.

It was still dark. Irony struck. At axe-murderer-way - this once was a shortcut to ALDI... a woman on her way back got killed by a man with an axe....
Well... see...

This is not from my heart, this is from my face.
From my second mouth.
As usual I was going fast, in the dark got stuck by, I think it might´ve been a fallen bike (kids drink there at night), fell on my left knee, both hands in broken glass, chin followed.
A person - also on ghost-hunt? - helped me up and I felt something warm running down my chin, decided to go home.

It all happened so fast! It didn´t even hurt. I didn´t dare to look in the mirror. It didn´t stop bleeding, so after a few hours I decided I cannot walk the 2 km to the bakery and called Ingo he will have to get his bread himself.

He came straight home... cause... I never call for help when I can manage by myself. He thought it must be something... I thought, it´s nothing, probably....
When Ingo saw me he got my shoes, coat, grabbed me and off we ran to the doc.
No need to wait, I got in instantly, hups.
They turned on the big light and told me I have a second mouth and not "nothing".... 4cm wide.
Got three... I thought stitches, but it was anesthesia, three! Wanted to go, cause thought the job was done, LOL.
My Bro once bit his tongue, got sewed with three stitches.

My whole face is swollen and boy, it hurts!
Knee.... owwww and... When the doc asked if I´d lost a tooth or two I thought she joked.
She did not. My upper teeth bumped so hard into my lip... I can still feel them!

Don´t go fast in the dark!
My hands hurt, I really fell into a broken bottle.
Well, but at least I got a shot against tetanus. My body was so numb, I didn´t even feel it!

Got home and fell asleep.
Ingo woke me: Do you know a certain Mr. B?

WHAT A DAY!!!
I was still numb in my brain and Mr. B calls cause he might have a job for me, I blabbered with a thick lip, wasn´t able to remember the name of his colleague, who next spoke to me and I ended with "have a nice weekend".

There are days and there are days, huh...

Well, as this is for Elizabeth´s "T Stands For Tuesday"...

 Boy, I´m done.
Wrote an e-mail, explaining the "nice weekend"... to Mr.B....

Henry 🦁

"What are you doing?!"

Addendum... Mr. B answered... all good, no worries.
Wish me luck, please!

Iris,

You poor thing having a fall like that and with so much damage - so glad you were not hurt worse and that someone helped you up! You deserve a fun drink afte that! Glad he took you to the doctor!!! No more hurrying in the dark.

Your TP journal page is fabulously fun! Great idea and love the humor in the face of this Covid nightmare.

Glad you got creative with your fatty bacon too. I have bought bacon like that before - good for flavoring beans but hard to eat as you can just imagine your arteries blocking up.

As always, I love your journaling pages - can't wait to see what you draw about your fall.

Happy T-day, my friend.

Nancy, after reading your comment (I´m a bit slow today...) - I switch over to you and find Liquid Death.... LOL
Hmmm. To draw that,... You get me thinking! ;-)

All good, it hurts, but... all good. Bruised my arm and neck as well... some bike that was... and glass... darn drinking kids!

Oh, and beans, yes! My Mum used to mix bacon and beans!

I'm sorry for your fall. In these cases it seems that the world turns upside down, then we get up to check if everything is ok. Glad you got an help.
I hope that you get well soon. All the best.

I am so sorry about your fall. Ugh. I hope you heal quickly.

I don't cook up bacon too often because of the high fat that comes with it--It's a treat once in awhile.
the toilet paper shortage last year has created all that craziness.
I am soooo sorry about fall and looks and sounds so painful-take care of yourself-big hugs Kathy

The Summer toilet paper with the joys of Summer like an ice cream cone made me laugh. I don't think I've ever seen printed toilet paper just boring white with embossed designs or ripples to make you feel cleaner. Oh, no! What an adventure you had. Poor you! I hope you're feeling better and will heal quickly. Fingers crossed the job comes through. Take care and Happy T Day

Sorry to hear about your big fall. I hope you mend quickly and be careful. Maybe you should wear a headlamp when it's dark outside? Please take care!

Black Knight, all will be OK, thank you :-)

CJ, we do have fun TP - and I always wonder ... why???
Thank you. Hurting big today. But things could be worse - teeth OK, no broken bone, yipee!
I try to take care now, LOL...

Bill, yes, my thought afterwards, too! Afterwards... Maybe I needed the lesson...

Oh my, that was some nasty fall Iris:( Glad Ingo took you to the doctors. Wonderful that you get creative in the kitchen with your food as well as in the crafting. The TP sewing and designs are fun- I've never seen such TP before! And the earrings- too funny;)
Take care of yourself, and no more falls! Happy T day!

Bacon is one of my favorites! In fact, I have eaten a whole pack of bacon as a meal. I do drain off the fat and collect it in a container. It is great to use in place of butter or oil when I am flavoring something. I don't like to waste either.
Loved your TP art, in fact, it made me laugh. What is the world coming to when TP is a staple item at the grocery store and a symbol of what we have gone through? Crazy, right? And those earrings...Nope! I would NOT be caught dead in those. Your piece is very creative and I love that you included various "styles" of Tp. The stitching is the perfect touch.
I am so sorry about your fall. 3 stiches...that is awful. It looks painful. Glad you didn't lose any teeth and that it wasn't worse. Feel better soon!
Happy Tea Day,
Kate

Iris Flavia said...

Linda, oh.... yes, my whole body hurts (a bit). To TP and fun!

____

Kate, cool idea to keep the fat like that, thank you for the tip!
LOL about the earrings - I was thinking, hmmm, if I stumble upon those for real... am I too old?
Yips, I was lucky in that fall after all!

I do hope you are feeling better, that was a nasty fall. You are lucky to see a doctor that fast. I am at an age where I am always watching where I walk, but accidents happen.
I hate the smell of bacon in the house.
I really do have to start using my sewing machine!!

Iris Flavia said...

Jackie, I was SO DARN LUCKY!!!
I am thankful. Could´ve broken a bone or lost some teeth... all good!!!
When my hands work again I´ll sew my trousers for winter-time :-)

Oh Iris I hope you heal quickly, fell on my knees, hands and chin but luckily no glass but my knees are still suffering after four months, I’m clumsy my husband tells me!
I love crispy bacon so buy the Spanish streaky as we call it, it is fatty but goes so crispy my husband hates it like that, he just shows it the pan!
Take care
Jan

OMG your poor face, that must have hurt a lot. I hope you have plenty of medications to take the pain away, all the good drugs. I was so busy reading about your amazing fancy TP and those earrings, I did not expect the rest of your post, what a shock. Hope you feel better ASAP Happy T Day! Elle/EOTC xx

You are so lucky that you didn't break something! I fell on the ice walking the dog in the dark and broke my wrist a few years ago.

I am late visiting because my electricity was out from shortly before 5:00 p.m. last night for around 19 hours. My apologies if you think I had forgotten or was ignoring you.

I am SO sorry to read about your fall. I can only imagine how painful that must be, dear. Please get some rest and take care of YOU. You look like you need to be in bed. Good for Ingo.

I love your toilet paper and Covid inspired art. It is wonderful. Great sewing, too.

I always enjoy seeing your calendar pages. Today was no exception.

Great drink, and YES, Ingo is definitely your anchor, dear. thanks for sharing your bacon, your calendar, your sewing project, your horrible fall, and your drink with us for T this Tuesday, dear Iris.

I hope you are OK Iris. That sounds scary. and of course you get a phone call when you can't talk. That's what always happens. Here we call it Murphy's Law. Your toilet paper art is pretty amazing. and those things on the virus are called spikes. Its how it attached to your cells. You have matching spikes it can attach to, like a round peg fitting in the right sized round hole. Take care, and I hope you had a great T day and Wednesday too. Hugs-Erika

Gosh, Iris, what a story! Falling into broken glass is no fun at all (that's the understatement of the year, I know) and it could have been so uch worse. I'm glad someone helped you up and that Ingo did take you to the doctor. I can imagine that it hurts like heck. Hopefully it heals quickly and the pain stops even sooner.

I agree, mearning how to sew in school was no fun at all. I hated it and I hated the teacher as well. I never tried sewing ever again (I knit and the sewing part of it is my least favorite). My daughter taught herself to sew and made her own Halloween costumes, whereas I was just an assistant holding the pins for her...

I am so sorry you are so badly hurt. Do you have a lamp on your bicycle. Here in Australia you must have a lamp on your bicycle if you wish to ride in the dark, and a reflector on the back, so cars will see you. I hope the pain doesn't last too long.
I LOVE the smell of bacon cooking, but can't eat very much of it. Too salty.
Fingers crossed for the job :)

Iris Flavia said...

Jan, no good news, I hope my knee is OK, feels better, but my hands... owwww.
Hi clumsy, here, too...
If the smell of the bacon wasn´t that bad... I´d have it more often!

____

Padre, yes. Sums it up, LOL. Thank you for the hugs!

____

Veronica Lee, thank you and hugs back, all will be good.

_____

Elle, yes. Hurts - no meds. It´s going to be OK and taught me a lesson for sure! I was so lucky nothing is broken!

____

RedPat, YES, a miracle. I slipped in winter, too. In the bedroom. Broke my foot. Oh, and my arm ages ago, too. You would think with age the bones break more easily, I was so darn lucky!!!

____

Elizabeth, what?! No power yet again?!
Bed... no, that´s way too boring, but no sport this week...

The sewing was fun! Sad I can but only type now... And read a book :-)
Yes, if it hadn´t been for Ingo... ohhh. I sure would´ve thought .... nah, don´t need to see a doc.

____

Erika, all "good" (well, it hurts!) Murphy is all around!!! Always. Lost something? Bought new... Murphy, you find the lost item.

Spikes, aha, thank you! See, I´m SO fed up with this pic I see EVERY evening I just didn´t even care to find out about the structure!
Hugs and thanks to you!

____

Carola, YES, I was so darn lucky! Could´ve broken some bones and teeth! It´s "pounding". It was a lesson I came out more or less fine.

Crazy you had the same sewing-experience I had. Sad, actually. Ingo taught me a bit and now it´s really fun!

OMG! Iris that was a heck of a fall. I hope you are better now. I can imagine how this hurts. Your bacon and other food looks great to me. I love seeing your journals. As for the TP. Our shelves at the grocery are empty so I wound not use for art right now. LOL. Get some rest and heal.

Divers and Sundry said...

I prefer crispy bacon, too, but it can be hard to tell how fatty it is in the package.

Ouch! I'm sorry you had this fall :(

Lisca said...

Oh no! How horrible! I'm so sorry about your fall! That was nasty. I hope you don't have too much pain. Poor Ingo must have had a shock too just seeing all that blood. Good that he took you to the doctor.
That bacon looks lovely and crisp. That's how it should be, but obviously you don't have to eat the fatty bits. (I don't)
Sorry I'm late but as you regulars know, we are away on Tuesday, and today we had a power cut so I'm even later (It's nine pm)
A belated happy T-Day,
Hugs,
Lisca

What a day! I'd normally say Ï'm glad you're OK" but I'm not sure you are with all that going on. It looks miserable. Ingo must have freaked but Í'm glad he acted quickly and got your to the doc. And everything else in this post looked delicious -- till we got to you! Get well soon!

My word, you really dinged your face. Falls like that can happen so quickly you barely have time to realize what happened before you feel the pain. As for bacon, we only buy it one in a while to make bacon bits for Cesar salad. When you look at the amount of fat you pour off after frying, and the tiny residue of crispy strips left behind, it becomes the most expensive meat you can possibly buy.
