... all of you who wished me well and luck for the job-interviews yesterday.
Step #01 - contacted Ingo (at work!) about the darn cam. Problem solved.
Step #1 - asked my T (at work!) to check technology.
So weird to finally see him again. So nice. Oh, Corinna, you!
Next... #2.... first interview with potential boss.
Went very well.
"OK, you state you speak English fluently?, he asked in German... yupp.
He checked that and said, great. Many state they can and.... nada.
I do not lie. When I say I can do something I can do.
He spoke very well, too, unlike others who "checked" on me.
He asked "OK, what did you do last weekend" - "As my chin and hands still hurt nothing much but reading books and watching a movie..." - "Oh, great" - "Not so much for me, though 😉" - and in German he continued, oh, ummm, I meant the book and movie.
(Ingo got the phone call on the day I fell and told him I was knocked out due to the fall).
How come my English is so well?
"I watch American movies in the original as..." - "...the German translation is often bad, I do that, too!"
He´s also the one who - like us - had to drag his luggage after his holiday through the drunk carnival-guys in rain. Same day!
It worked out so good, so much so he said, no second interview with colleague necessary.
Nervous-factor 300% now.
The possible boss said, "stop making yourself smaller than you are". Three times.
My ex-boss said that, also. As the lady at the employment office. As Bro. And some of you, too.
Hm. Makes me really feel like a three-year-old.
I was so "smart" to ask later via e-mail which link to click to join the conversation later and weeee. Got the correct link. (Big player).
#3 - It all worked out. Technically.
On the human side... I made the customer grin big.
He sadly just came back from a holiday and needs to interview more people, it´ll take two weeks.
Technology....
Screen went black.
Huuuuuuuh? My bad?
No.
Possible customer hung up after saying good-bye - and with that the possible boss was out, too.
Wrote an e-mail whilst possible boss called me.
He said he was very satisfied with how I acted, well, I do not act, I´m me, so... how I managed.
"Well done today "
Two weeks waiting.
On 4th next interview with another company.
I want THIS job, even if it´s just for 9 months - as they allow Sabbatical - HOW COOL IS THAT?! I´ll just step in for the 9-months-holidayer.
You know... It´s a new generation. We were so open. I want to join this team. This customer.
And I have to wait at least two weeks.
Mind you, I didn´t write down what the potential boss said, but I´m sure my mouth fell open. It was not "grab him by the balls" it was even more... 😱 - don´t laugh about a maybe future boss in an interview.

Too funny, huh. In German it is "Heinrich" and then I find this one saying "Henry" at the tourist info (where I go when I look for pressies).

..."stop making yourself smaller than you are" is the best advise that anyone could give you!!!
It´s a small gap between being too small of too big... I´m always afraid of the latter. Disappointing others or making a fool of myself...

I used to be like that when in school, I never tried very hard because I was afraid to fail. Yet I still passed always in the top 5%. imagine what I could be now if I had tried!
So imagine yourself being where you want to be (winning) and be happy in the interviews and of course always be true about what you can do. it sounds like the interviews are going very well and I hope you get the job you are wanting.

So glad and happy for you that the interview went very well. The waiting can be tough. Just relax (no need to try), I am sure you will get the job. If it is yours, it will be yours. Just be yourself, don't think yourself so small.
