Ring propped above my wedding ring for the pic, isn´t he a cutie, the frog?
(Wow. the ring actually is titanium, but the "rills" were golden once... long ago! 😂)

She loses her toy and who comes to help?

He´s not the prettiest and she refuses after she´d promised. But her Dad...
"Only when you find a man you truly love you can be the man", says the King to his stubborn Daughter, who is always dressed like a guy, not in a "pretty dress", she refuses that whenever she can.
I was told in real life by four men I am no woman and they meant it as a compliment.
One of them was Ingo.
The prince in this fairy tale is turned into a (King) Frog and only a true love can save him.

Don´t loose your faith, they say in the fairy tale.
"You promised he´ll be your friend, so it will be", says the King.
The frog certainly is the prince, is saved by the kiss and they live happily together ever after.
(kinda predictable, huh?)

(In other versions the princess with all her strength throws the poor frog against the wall, I like this kiss-version much better!)

In one of the versions I read, the Princess threw the Frog against a wall. That's when he turned into a Prince.

Der Froschkönig? Sounds like Brüder Grimm. That reminds me of the Astrid Lindgren books I read as a child, "Wir Kinder von Bullerbü" when Lisa and Britta (I think those were their names) find a frog and think about whether they should kiss it or not. If I remember correctly, they do in the end with a loud "igitt" and the frog jumps away (probably happy to have escaped the girls...). I need to look whether I can find that story again, I still have all my Astrid Lindgren books.
I remember the story from when I was very young and thought even then it would be icky to kiss a frog.
"Lose" has only one "o". "Don't lose your way"
"loose" with two "o's" means something not tight, "my pants are too loose"

I saw "Wir Kinder von Bullerbü" on TV and that blonde boy, "Michel aus Lönneberga", loved that!
We got that all TV. I had kid´s books like "Bille and Zottel".
Sadly I have none anymore. Would be perfect for my Niece. Good idea, maybe I send her one! Thank you!

River, actually we´re not even supposed to touch frogs as it can make them sick, but obviously back then no one knew.
