Who Ever, Ever Would´ve Thought?!

I think I told before I never was allowed in the kitchen at home and Ingo never succeeded in making me interested in cooking. And now?
Nicole reminded me that today it´s Kathy´s Food Wednesdays-theme and that I should join!
That I have "cooking skills", oh, if my Mum could read that, she was SO wrong! I think she would be a bit proud of me.
Thank you, Nicole!
Who would EVER think someone points out that I can cook - me... cooking!!!
Ingo even saying it´s yummy! And I did not even had a recipe!
I don´t wanna brag, but this is a nice turn in my life.
It´s like in IT - I just learn.

I have to thank Jamie and Gennaro mainly, though.

You know why?
I hate when people tell me what to do.
First I followed Jamie exactly, but he always says.... "you can do it this way. Or yours".

And I have to thank my old "boss", who kicked me out cause I didn´t bring in VW-money no more - best that could´ve happened! It was short sighted from his side - the general manager quit, one of the top developers, too, he ruins the old-old-good boss´s company (I know this cause "my T" still works there).

These are pics from "quick, you have 30 minutes to cook and eat your leftovers", but these meals actually are yummy and easy to make!

The microwave or the pan´s lid are best friends!

The feta gets all gooey, once you put on the lid and wait a little.
No need to get out your mini-oven or start the big one!
Just put on the pan´s lid!
Feel free to say thanks to Jamie, this is the short recipe I can give you ๐Ÿคฃ
Add good spices, too.
Just do it your way!

No time for that? Here´s a super-short-time-consuming brekkie:

Rip in pieces, throw in, stir, eat (enjoy). Even healthy, but take care you take high quality oil (yes, Jamie, I did listen and you are absolutely right).

I´m off soon to buy ingredients cause I have a new cook book, Gennaro loves lemons and I´ll give it a go!!
I´m just waiting for a company to call me - I´m on "holiday", so I have time to cook.
Worked since end of November and have 5 days to take, crazy, huh?

Henry(´s boy) ๐Ÿฆ

To creativity, right? To freedom, just "cook"! And enjoy!

Glad that you are enjoying your cooking adventures. I like recipes that are flexible. Not easy to follow everything exactly. My mom too used to kick me out of the kitchen. I am glad my curiosity wins and I enjoy cooking whenever I am not lazy. Lol! Yes, like Henry, I love the nice smell of cooking.

What?! Why did you get kicked out?
Me cause I´m afraid of anything hot... To curiosity, to winning over long ago times!

Your meal looks delicious. For me, I would use cheddar instead of feta. I had to look up endive, never heard of it. Have a great day, Iris.

YaY Iris! See you have cooking skills. I love anything with cheese and gouda and fetta are 2 of my favorites. I have been cooking since I was a kids. The oldest of 6 kids, I was always helping my mom in the kitchen. I really love your meals today.

Your food looks delicious, especially potatoes, ham and feta plus egg: is this a greek dish? I remember I ate something of similar in Athens.
My wife likes to cook, she follows on tv "cuisine" programs and she has many books and magazines about this topic.

Iris Flavia said...

Nicole, thank you!!!! There is nearly nothing better than cheese. Skip the "nearly"!

My mother always complained because she had never been allowed to cook while living with her family. She first had her own kitchen when she was married. If she wanted a recipe she would call a friend or a relative, so many of the things we ate were called Mrs. S's this or Aunt B's that. Which shows how it was before TV cooking shows, I guess.

jinxxxygirl, good luck! If I bake it´s always hearty stuff. But Jamie Oliver sure has sweets in stock as well.

____

Mae, how is that that some refuse to teach their children to cook? In my case, understandable, anything hot scared me off, but otherwise?!
Yes, I used to call my "baby-brother" in the beginning often how to really do this or that in cooking as the internet was too confusing.
Fried potatoes even, LOL!!!! Poor man, that!

____

magiceye, come over, I´ll cook!

____

Elizabeth, better late than never, huh!
