Yesterday started perfect. Rain.... ohhh, yay for Rainy Day People, right, Bill!
Went grocery shopping 07:02 am and got the best meat. Plus a friendly smile ๐
Started work 07:30 and ... think I got it (a bit).
Then...
... inbetween meetings.
It´s a very different work flow with the "new normal".
People are more patient.
Customer N told E what to write and we looked on.
In "real working life"... not possible, not where I come from.
N joked about the horn... haha, am I an "insider" now?
Very short break for lunch, hmmmm....
Then J called, I understand more and more of the structure, the tools, the processes.
I thank the (female) Siemens team BIG ( I did, for real indeed) - I learned so much there!
SP, MS Teams, OneDrive, Word, Excel...
They taught me how to react on "left, too far! Right, no, not so much!!!" etc, etc, I´m a "pro" now, LOL! And I lead the customer through as well - yay!
Pinรถpel inclusive!!! It seems no one knows that thing´s name!
E (teamleader) still has trouble with me as I´m still too hectical and CLICK in an instant, drives him nuts.
E after the morno-meeting wanted to call back, didn´t.
Reckon he packed and organized stuff for Ukraine.
Checked ESE-e-mail, teamleader C informed me teamleader (Alstom) E said he´s "very positive" about me adding to the team - yippeeee!
Yes? How, why?
Nice of her to let me go into the weekend like this! "Very"... not just...

I am also happy I received a mail getting informed Alstom officially invites Ukrainian refugees to apply for jobs in engineering. YAY!
No fussing around, come here, work. Welcome.
(OK, a tad... difficult as most refugees are Mothers with kids, but the offer is standing).

You have to wonder how many Ukrainian refugees will never make it back to their homes again. Some of the ones arriving here are already speaking of putting down roots. It probably helps that Canada has the largest Ukrainian diaspora in the world. Two of my good friends are of Ukrainian descent, with names like Ozaruk and Michalenko you would guess that in an instant!

I'm so glad that the week ended so well for you, Iris.
The family that was best friends with my family when I was growing up was Ukrainian and we did travelling with them etc and went for Christmas Eve dinner at their house. It is a horror what is going on over there.
