Keep The Tea Coming
Ingo got me this very, very cute kettle:-)
Tea and broth will be around again...
Only dangerous, or rather very dangerous thing: It´s made of porcelain.
Glas and breakables in general and me aren´t really friends.
I sure as hell will not put it up on the high cupboard! When not in use it sits in the living room...
And.... shuuuu the lid does get very hot, certainly. Hot and me - not friends at all!
But I need it cause...
Even the toughest construction workers need more than a t-shirt now again.
The kids in the background still wear t-shirts, but this was last week.
Yesterday, though, in 18.5°C, I still saw a woman wearing a shirt without arms, brrr!
Seems like some people very desperately cling on to the idea of summer!
The cute kettle makes it a tad easier to accept "the situation", no?

OMG - I Had Dog Milk
... or... did I?
I fell for the cute design with the heart.
Reckon this was cow milk with cocoa.
(Ewwww, way too sweet for my liking!)
Just why is there this Small Münsterländer at the bottom?!
I deeply hope the cows that gave the milk are from Münsterland and some funny dude is a lover of those dogs, right.
The Simpsons-episode with rat milk comes to mind!

Finally A Bit Of Perth
After our "London Court"-visit we made our way to zea.
It was the 17th, where flow suggested this:
Don´t they look nice on this latern?
Ingo wanted to try something new and I gave in...
It was but salty, so next time back to Margherita!
The title?
Oh, it´s nearly like being in the cabin, I so-so-so love the sound of rain!
On the way home Ingo plucked one more:
Back home he put up the big sunshade, that´s also rainproof, we watered the flowers (and, mind, you, we´ll do this more often, I still enjoy them!):
And with another "Krabbensaft" we said good-bye to summer in the rain on our balcony.

What´s Your Color?
Sat started with sleeping in and then heading off by foot.
You know Ingo, huh, he always takes a closer look and pointed me to this building.
This house keeps changing it´s color!
Kinda crazy, no?
And then, there are ants. Or one, at least.
Life´s crazy...

We Have One, Too
We´re Germans, right?
Means... we´re on time.
Not punctual but... too early.
As my Dad used to say: Better be 10 minutes early than 5 minutes late! - so please bear with me, I grew up like that!
Anyhows. We were 30 minutes early, zea doesn´t open before 5 pm.
So on we went.
As you maybe know Ingo wants to improve his spoken English and neighbour A said the Wild Geese might be a place for it, so we wanted to have a look.
Teamleader T calls Braunschweig "Tetris city" and, yes, we kinda got lost a wee bit - luckily!!!
I mean, listen, look, isn´t it a bit like London Court in Perth?
In fact, I turned around with these words to take pic above which turned into a nice, long chat with one of the shop owners and we learned, as the sign here says:
Handelsweg (Sedanbazar) is the oldest passage Braunschweig has.
In 1870 houses there were teared down and this passage was built to make life a bit better :-)
More in German here.
They have events running, I´m sure we´ll come back :-)
Ingo certainly was on the run again for said Wild Geese! ;-)
But... the lady behind the counter said "life" starts max 8pm, which, due to our rather early start in the day and the rather long way home is a tad late.
Plus, mind you....
Thanks to one lokal "busker" I really hate Irish music and would defo not join!
Brrr...
More to come, this day was like really full!

Take A Seat
Yesterday I went to Wokman again - this time on routes I know and it took me only 20 minutes one way :-)
Poster above: Meet the "new" Basketball-team.
Hm, rather not, it´s not my game.
What might this one be about, huh?
When it starts raining, which is likely now (20C, rainy) the poor fella hopefully has made it to some safe side.
At Wokman I ordered and was asked to take a seat as it might take a while.
I took some pics instead...
At least I planned to...
... five minutes later I got my Bami Goreng!
Wouldn´t call that exactly "take a while", no?
Still a wee bit left over.
Cause... Ingo behind my back grabbed some chopsticks and friendly asked if he might help.
And yes! I´d asked before going if he wanted something!
Today we plan to get Italian pizza and next week, with summer being gone... back to a healthy life it is!

My Braunschweig
Oh, the fourth, for us second, MERIAN on Braunschweig really is superb.
I have to admit, though I add nothing to this city I beam with pride.
Journalist Till Raether used to live in so-called "A-cities", he found out when he read there are "B-cities" like Braunschweig - he lives here now.
And loves it.
And, hahaha, I really had to laugh when he describes when coming home it feels like being in The Truman Show, like everything is made just to suit you!
And how I was being teased so cleverly by Grace and her hubs!
Like... the author went to visit the tower of our city hall, it´s open from 09-03.
It wasn´t tourist-like, he was the only one visiting and was guided.
On a Tuesday morning he went to Klosterkirche Riddagshausen. The sexton came over to turn off the light so he can see how beautifully the sunlight gets in.
Brunswick Cathedral offers guided tours.
In the middle of the week again he was the only one, asking where the tour takes place and got as answer, here and the two of us are the tour :-).
He learned the darn Nazis wanted to turn Henry the Lion into in arian symbol. They opened the sarcophagus and saw Henry was smaller than his wife Mathilda and must´ve had black hair - oh, lucky dude, they lost interest!
He also mentions the darn "castle" and helped me getting over the loss of the park for it. He says only a city as pragmatic as Braunschweig can say, we need it to be a shopping mall to afford it, so it will be, no "important" fussing around.
Only a city like Braunschweig can say we need eight years to renovate an important museum like the Herzog Anton Ulrich Museum.
He also mentions that our Brunonia is the biggest of Europe (we still haven´t visited!).
The first soccer-game on German ground was played here (gahhh...), we have the exact time for Europe...
He says Braunschweig is known to be rather "repellent", but that´s not true.
He says, take a city map and peeps will come for help.
Haha. I remember very early 2002 I was stopping my Mum´s car (number-plate starting with "GS" for "Goslar"), grabbing the map.
And before I could have a closer look someone knocked at the window to offer help :-)
I "knew" Braunschweig from visiting friends, but this was so fab I "knew" I´ll get a job here, I just had to (and I did).
Braunschweig, I love you, you got the fourth MERIAN for a reason!
My home :-)
