As you can guess from the style of the house we´re still in Emden.
As "little" Brothers are... they both try hard with punctuality come meeting us, we only had to wait a short time ;-)

Not a concept I found here, but in Emden I saw many a "Karl-Heinz" at work!

We went to a nice Steak-house for dinner, hmmm, was really, really yum!
After the steak was so darn un-yummy last time here last summer I didn´t have any. Now I´m ready to give it another go here.
Later I read on very hot days you should not eat.... steak. Aw, well, the stupid Germans, huh? ;-)
We had a longer walk afterwards and found this mural:
People sure do change, luckily.
All the (few) times I met this SIL we had a hard time. Each time she asked what I do for a living and that was all we came up with, work.
This time the Bros went first, the kids inbetween and the two of us last.
And we chatted along, it really was nice!
No more thinking, uhhh, what can I ask next, it was easy-going and fun.
And they wanna visit us this summer.
Also cause SIL wants to see Braunschweig again - she once had a boyfriend here :-)
Here is the real thing we saw the mural of on the first day:
They wanted to come to the hotel lobby outside for a last drink, but since the evening before it took the staff over 20 minutes to "see" us amongst the other... 8 (?) guests, ... service, M warned us, might be a problem...
So instead we came over for a cuppa (on Ingo´s side, I had tap-water) the next morning before saying good-bye, this time with hugs even and off on the road we went - with a "Klappstulle"!, I found out later!
M made me toast with (butter I didn´t want and) cheese. Unfolding I saw: Two pieces of toast, the cheese in the middle! I hate that! That is a whole family of Klappbrot!
As said in the first post, "the weather we deserved"...
(Co-) Driving was a pain, oh, seesh it´s getting worse the older I get :-(
But we arrived without an incident and the sun was out and about again :-)
And I found out... the strawberry-cake might come after all!
Positive thinking, right? ;-)

How exciting to find the lighthouse mural Iris, I know you like them, or was it a friend who liked them so much? It's good that you felt more relaxed with your SIL, sometimes it just takes a bit of time to 'click' with someone :)
:-) That was the girl at our bakery who so loves lighthouses - uh, by golly, Grace, that you remember that, I must´ve been a maniac looking for one, huh? She really got a framed pic of the Hillary´s lighthouse - and she loved it! Sadly she doesn´t work there anymore.
Yes, funny it took so many years with SIL and now is so easy with her!

Yes, it´s a nice little town - sadly normally the weather is rainy and windy there, we were really, really lucky weather-wise! Yes, funny it took so long with SIL...
