Don´t Judge

I´m living on left-overs these days.
And I´m slowly getting sick of home fries with onions, smoked ham and eggs.

So I went to our darn grocery store.
Checkout #1 - Fatty.
We secretly call him Fatty cause a) his hair is always very oily - in the last 7 years I´ve never ever seen him with fresh hair, b) he´s fat, c) I - like Ingo and at least two neighbours got into "fights" with him, I really do not like him.
Checkout #2 - full to the brim.
Checkout #3 - OK.

In front of me a rather scruffy guy in his 50´s.
He turned around - few peeps do that! (I do... certainly ;-) - no, really, I do)
Looked at my hand, looked me in the eye, nodded, said, just that one?

I looked him back in the eye, nodded, yep.

He said, before me, please, then.
Yeah, amazing, huh. Even with a "please"!

He added, and you really have just that one thing! Just before I was at ALDI and the lady there nodded, too, and then had a bag full of stuff! :-(
Then he added, healthy choice, Brussels Sprouts, just had 'em yesterday. With red potatoes. You can eat those, just... "#brand" is better :-).

For the rest of the wait we chatted about potatoes, markets, and, mind you, he really had only healthy stuff on the checkout-line, too.

I came home with a big grin.

Think I´m still too quick at times judging peeps by their looks (sadly way too often I´m proofed right, though).

So, back to Brussels Sprouts!
Cooked them right after, went outside with Ingo for his "old-man-smoko", came back, said, eww, what´s that smell?!, opened our door.
Yep, my Brussels Sprouts, LOL.

Fried 'em with the ole potatoes and later will have more Brussels Sprouts and Cheddar Cheese Soup, yum!

Isn´t it just crazy how some nice people manage to make such a bad optical appearance your first thought is to avoid and pigeonhole them?
