I am sosososo glad I don´t have a car no more (and I have no idea how many really get it from sheeper to cheaper here).
And to be honest I don´t want a car here in Germany anymore.
More and more traffic and no speed limit too often with cars that go over 200 km/h :-(
If I needed to drive Ingo´d give me his, but it´s much bigger than mine were and it´s not beeping when you park.

The car sharing seems a good idea for now and again trips. I don't mind driving Iris but I'm very glad we have strict speed limits. Sometimes too slow like on suburb streets it's 50km, hard to keep to. Speed limits go from 70, 80 and 100 on the freeways, it's only on country roads you can go 110km which I personally think is too fast!
Oh, Grace, when it´s "only" 110 I´m glad.
Also in Australia drivers are less aggressive in general. I did - and would do again - a lot of driving in your place :-)
We have two cars! A big one that can tow the caravan and a smaller one for doing most of our driving. There is no drive sharing out in the bush where we live.
In the/your bush I was never afraid to drive (at daytime!!) - yes, we had two (small) cars here always, too, but when I don´t have to go to another city I can do everything by foot :-)

Husband has a car, I never learned to drive. Big city girl here. Probably get in the car with John maybe twice a month! We have really good public transit and I have even convinced John that it is a better way to travel. Drivers in Toronto are crazy and aggressive. There is a total car mentality here, woe to the pedestrians trying to cross a street.
Yes, public transport (in the city!) is a better choice, I agree!
I am glad, though, I have a licence and could take a car if I had to.
But when my Job in Wolfsburg ended and I could walk to my workplace in Braunschweig life quality went some 100%!
I live out in the country, so a car is a must-have. But I can imagine living in a city - walking or riding a bicycle wherever I need to go. And a lot of city stores offer home delivery within a certain distance from their businesses.

I lived with my then-boyfriend (now hubby) and his Grandma in a village. Sweet times, but I prefer the city.
I live out in the country and a car is a necessity but if I lived in the city or a small village I think I could get around without a car----but I love to drive

Before I had an accident I also loved to drive - sadly those days are long over...
I don't have a car, or even a license at present. It's not needed, so I don't have it.
I don't have a car either. I gave up driving when I moved to Ireland. Now I ride the bus everywhere. It's free and I can get it right down the lane. Very convenient and it's fun listening to people's conversations when we ride the bus.

When you reach your 66th birthday, the state issues you a free travel pass that allows you and your partner/spouse to ride the bus or take a train anywhere.
I like your sheep sign. Our local expressway has a speed limit of 129kph (80 mph), not as fast as the Autobahn, but still moving right along. If we had good public transportation I might do without a car, but we need one now to get around.
I drive a very old (2001) Toyota Corolla with a manual transmission. I love the stick shift but when it dies I will probably get an automatic. I found that if you have a problem with a leg or arm you can't drive because of shifting!

We dont have the car sharing concept yet in India but we do have cab sharing.
That we do not have, cab sharing! Crazy!
