I am very thankful I live in a place where mostly there is trust.
Where shop-owners can put their goods out like this on display and no one steals.
This is the Easterly ring area, no idea if it would be such a good idea here, in the Northerly one.
Why we moved here then, you might wonder.
Well. We lived for rent in the good East.
We wanted to own.
I still have the floor plan in my mind of a beautiful condo we looked at, oh, my!!!
Beautiful!
But. 5th floor, no lift, tiny balcony and way too expensive.
We live ground level now. Have a good balcony, 15 minutes brisk walking and we´re in the city.
And come Monday...
... I´ll be on my way to our old "hood", to our bakery in the East, where they know me by name, by face.
Where I started off in 2001, flat sharing. Moving away, coming back with Ingo leaving his old place, and now for bread only.
I see differences, of course...
New shops. ALDI is gone. Our butcher is closed on Mondays.
Things change. That´s the way it is.
Is this our "forever home"?
Sometimes I feel like this:
We have to have some trust, huh.

Henry and I love to meet other Lions, so, if you´d like to see yours here, send them to flaviakaiser@gmx.de - some are already here, yet sleeping. They are not forgotten, Henry and I promise! (They snuggle up in a file together).

it's comforting to live in a safe area. but things do change-it's just the way of life. I enjoy seeing your lions Yes I am ready for the super bowl to hopefully watch the KC Chiefs win. hoping its a close game for a change. where I live it starts at 5:30 pm

No super bowl for us today thank you ... we have time, but no interest (probably that is un-American of us, but at this point in time I don’t even care). ... I think you made a good choice to move where you did!
Trust like that is more often found here in small country towns and on roadside stalls by farms where the fruits and veggies are out for sale, but the farmer and his family need to keep working on the farm, so they trust the people who drive by to buy and put the money in the tin.
No super bowl for me, I don't like football.
I've noticed much of Germany trusts their neighbors. I can't think of too many places in the states where that would happen. Maybe a few small farming communities, but that's about it. That would never happen Wichita. Have fun visiting the east on Monday. Love your lion and glad you have a reserve of lions. YES, I'm late. But my team won the Superbowl, so I have an excuse!

Don't you love living in a place where they know your name? And where trust is good? Our neighborhood has always been super safe but lately there have been car break-ins with unlocked cars. Yes, our neighborhood was so safe people never locked their cars or garages but now they are starting. It may well just be kids or maybe not. But it's still a little sad...
I think you love your city very much Iris, that's so good. I honestly think I'd rather do anything else than watch the Superbowl Iris, even vacuuming, and I really hate vacumming 😄😄
