We don't have dedicated places like you do for recycling.. There are various NGOs who will collect all the recyclable plastic for necessary action. Then there are the homeless who will go through garbage containers and scour the streets for plastic bottles to be sold to the recycling agents.
We have a bin to recycle. They alternate picking up waste one week then recycling the next week. If it's glass, I walk to put it in a bin down at the store we have. There are 10 bins there for that purpose. Easy to recycle here.
Here in NL we also do recycling but unfortunately the youth still throws plastic bottles in the rubbish bin. And also here I regularly see someone fish the bottles out because for them each bottle is a small pocket money.

For plastic items we have a collecting system once a month, but people are very reluctant/lazy to segregate. So sad.
