I could not believe what I saw in the news yesterday.
A rented transporter (bus) and two rented cars on the highway near Berlin.
In a most dangerous way the "drivers" blocked the highway, overtaking left and right (where people can drive at 130 km/h / 80 mph, (I think) or even plus!!!), then stopping.
Risking people´s lives. Stopping the whole traffic.
That includes ambulance, firefighters etc...
Then getting out, gluing themselves to the wheels and highway.
The so-called "Letzte Generation" again.
Police, us tax-payers pay for and who cannot do their "real" job, had to help, they came through with "small" cars.
This was not just annoying, this was very highly dangerous.
Do this in another country.... Germans are so dumb (I may say that, I am German).
I dunno. What would you do?
They showed people yelling at the dumbheads, some wanted to rip them off and I feel with them!!!
Not letting people get to work/hospital, you name it but NOT making any suggestions what to do better?! Dumb, dumb, dumb!!!! Spoiled brats who NEVER worked.
What will they think of themselves in, say, 10 years???
I am too old to understand this.
What if there had been accidents with deaths??? Those dumbheads were lucky others reacted in time!!!
I do hope they go to prison and have to pay (or mummy and pappy have to - how can you "produce" such "kids"?!)
What is it with those "kids" - do they not look to other, big countries that still do no care about environment and from those they likely buy lots of stuff cause it´s cheap???

I understand one has to start - but with suggestions, solutions, not this...
Just imagine what could have happened.
Germans tend to speed on the highway... some come here to "experience" this dumb stuff. And they have NO experience hence.

Against being dumb.
Be intelligent, bring solutions, don´t do this... Let us hope this is the "last generation" of this kind of dumbness.

Some of those dumbheads live in New Zealand too. They have been gluing themselves to the road to stop people going about their lawful business, all because they think we should stop driving cars and go by train instead - at least that is how their message has been coming across to me. It is so inconsiderate of others, and, like you say, extremely dangerous.

I found none that stopped in front of my door, had my name on it and brought to where I wanted to go!
My SIL told me off for saying "no" to a job in Wolfsburg. "It´s but 20 minutes by train!"
Yes, from station to station. All in all likely 1 1/2 hours!!!
I work in railway, but thankfully from home...
And thankfully since COVID all those who can do this.
Certainly trains, esp new ones are better for Mother Nature, but... BUT! You need medical help in an emergency? Go to the train station and...
There will never be the "perfect" way, but forcing others in such a dumb way does not help...
Wow, I hadn't heard about that! But certainly a dangerous and silly way to bring attention to something. There could have been accidents on those highways.
Yes, not to forget.. you have a job-interview and are late because of this, or miss it...
Or really need a doctor...

I want to share, but hestiate because it is an awful event spreading around the world already. I'll just link your blog and send people to it...on my environmental opinion blog. Here in the US there aren't trains available (except near big cities) because we're so spread out. This kind of action would certainly be devastating to some people's needs.

Many here need their cars, too, public transport often is no option cause it takes so much longer!
Protests that don't cause any inconvenience are ineffective. Around here people pay lip service to MLK, Jr while objecting to the very kinds of marches like Selma that got his causes attention. That roads are set up to preclude anybody except those in cars/trucks is in itself something worth protesting.
But not risking killing people (maybe some young families) at 130 km/h (or more).
Imagine you have a job interview for your dream job and loose out. Or, like me, a very sick Hubby, and yes, I took the highway, too...
If they had IDEAS to what do better, but not even that!

One woman died in an accident cause the ambulance did not come through some weeks ago cause of them gluing themselves onto the street.
Yes, we need to care, yes, we must wake politicians up... POLITICIANS!

When we had the Tour de France starting in Denmark last summer, some protesters also tried to do the samen trick, but they did not succeed. Strong men from the spectators simply went out and picked them off the road before the glue hardemed, and dumped them at the roadside. I just loved this. The TOur de France was so very lovely in Denmark.
One of the funny things was 6 German bicyclists sneaking onto the big bridge after the peloton had passed, pretending they were part of the Tour ;) They made it halfway over the bridge before they were stopped and the police gently followed them back to their original place among the crowds.
Oh wow. Didn´t the skin stay on the road?!
If so they sure learned their lesson quickly!!!
Here police tries with detergent or I don´t know what to get them from the streets without injuries...

I too feel that these days, people are driving carelessly or dangerously on the road, not caring about other users' safety. Don't know what they are thinking or are they just selfish.
It happens here too. And it has annoyed me many times. But still: it also annoys me that nothing is happening in the field of climate. Talk, talk, talk...
