Clowns sure freak me out - neither do I think they are funny. How about you?

...yesterday I went to the dermatologist, after over 50 years of working outside, my bald head is showing the signs.
Clown freak me out too. When my daughter was about to be born my mother-in-law got a crib mobile for us. It was hanging clowns. No way did that go up. And yup, no sunscreen, now lots of wrinkles. And even worse, we were told to use baby oil to bring on the tan. Happy rest of your Wednesday. hugs-Erika

I don't like clowns. When visiting an amusement park with Teague, a clown was coming down the sidewalk. I made her cross the street to avoid the clown. In the early 1970s we were still oblivious to the effects of the sun. My girlfriends and I used to slather ourselves with baby oil to tan (roast!) at the beach or sunbathing in the backyard
When I was young we went to a circus and we thought the clowns were funny, but I do think a circus is the only place for them. I don't find them scary at all, but they seem out of place anywhere else. Probably okay handing out balloons or icecream at parties as long as the kids are not scared of clowns. Love clown Henry.
I remember the days before sunscreen, people used oils and tanning lotions and on the radio there would be an announcement every half hour "time to turn so you don't burn" and all along the beach people lying on towels sunbathing would roll over. Many still burned though and couldn't attend school or work because of pain and blistering.
I really know no one who likes clowns! Henry is a bit silly with his extra "arm" ;-)

Hehe, I´d cross the street, too!!! And fast! The baby oil cracks me up - it was even done by my friend who grew up in Africa! I just got terribly burnt... My Mom used yogurt as help...
I didn´t even like the circus, went only once... I shouldn´t have read "It" at age 14 maybe... Henry gives you a five (arm) ;-)
Ow... and now you have stickers on busses saying "The sun is your enemy" (in Perth). Yes, on Mallorca I once got burned badly in the early 80´s too... no one cared about sunscreen... "turn so you don´t burn", oh, boy!
And here people still go to "sun-studios" to get a tan.
And remember once it was a sign of being rich being "white" cause it meant you don´t work in the field....
Clowns can be scary! Love Henry the clown though!
