Geeeez. In all that time we lived in so many places. But hardly together.
First time together: Traveling Australia in '95 for 6 months.
Next time together: Traveling Australia in '99 for 7 months.
Then in 2000 - me looking for a job for a whole year! I got depressive a bit but Ingo did stick to me.
Next time: ? Who knows.
Oh, do shorter holidays count? Nah, not really. But if so it would be 3 weeks in Cuba, Mexico, Isla Margarita, Jamaica, Cuba, Perth. Even shorter holidays, too? Wilhelmshaven, Bremerhaven, Hamburg, Koeln!, ... and certainly the weekends. There was only one weekend where we were not together and that was because Ingo was sick and didn´t want to infect me as well.

13 years? My my! My husband and I have been together for 14 years this year. Hard to believe. So tell me, why is it that you've never tied the knot and made life so you don't live for your weekends? I suppose the answer to that is "don't fix what isn't broken!" Right?!
Aw, Wendy. No. The answer is work. The worst time in my life was not when I was ill (that wasn´t my "fault") but when I was without a job - right after studying. I got probably even depressive. I lived with Ingo - in his grandma´s house, and she and her daughter made me feel like a looser. Like I was lazy.
I was working hard on the computer, which was a new thing to me then and managed to get a job in a new work-environment. I was programing a game in javascript (studying how to do that!) - what did they see when sneeking in? I "played"!
Maybe this is a new type of relationship - seeing each other only on the weekend due to work.
I saw some documentaries on TV on that subject. Some people even manage with kids. Sad as it is.
I would love to live with Ingo. But when you see that you spend at least 8 hours a day at work, then work has to be good.
I once worked in a "bad" team - I will never again do that!
I have a good team here - as Ingo has at his place.
Jobs are rare - since some time now.
Can you imagine that you get to know each other pretty well, being stuck together in the outback for days? :-)
Or weeks, months? The first time all my money was in his hands - I had to trust him, and did, and that was good :-)
Maybe one day Ingo and me can live and work together, maybe not . Let´s see what life has to give us - or what we can make out of it with strength, will and luck.
And thank you for your ear (eyes, fingers to tip)!
Oh. Well that made me a bit sad. How rotten of his family. I actually had a similar experience when I first met my husband. When he and I first dated, I was without a job. I had worked for a company for 8 years and was laid off. It was hard to get a job (1992/93) as TONS of people were laid off. His family frequently made me feel as if they were judging me. Then I got a part time job at a police department .. .and from there (after more than a year of part time) took a full time job in the fire department. That was 11 years ago. So, his family can't say a thing to me. I do better than they do. (smirk) So, his grandmother and her daughter must realize that Ingo TRULY loves you, as you are still together -after all these years. Perhaps someday you will write a game that takes off hugely and you will become a millionaire from "playing games"!!!
The partners´ families maybe have a very critical eye on the new "member" of the family. Maybe they just try to do their best and don´t know how much they hurt us....
I left that kind of programming but lets hope we all make the best of our lifes - and we will! :-)
Hi Iris (and Ingo!),
Congratulations on your 13 years together! I'm glad you could spend your time together here in Australia and I really hope that one day you can live together. Here's to the future guys!
Lots of love,
Dee
Thank you Deanne! And it´s really good to "see" you again!
Maybe we make it back again, then we finally can go the Cottleslo beach together if you like - and not just for a glimpse!
Lots of love from here, too :-)
