2010 it started either due to my own stupidity (who hops on the push-bike in minus-temps and drives as fast as can, too?!) or it was a virus, the doc I went to couldn´t say, but I got a conjunctivitis.
She gave me a med my eyes didn´t tolerate, it was a long story with weeks on and off the job and hurting eyes.
Wednesday my eyes were red. Oh-oh.
Tuesday it was warm and very humid, my eyes weren´t dry at all, seemingly. And hence I used near to no eye-drops.
Was that the reason or did I touch something someone with a virus had touched and off we go again?
(I am very careful)
So off to the city it was on Thursday – Friday at the doc they close at lunchtime and I work in Wolfsburg, then weekend...
I know what med I need and hoped they´d just give me a receipt for just in case.
No. You have to see the doc. But yours is on holiday.
Noooooooo…. (to both).
Mind you, I wasted hours of my life in the waiting area there – with appointment. And my doc knows my “story”, right?
Ingo left to grab some food and I sat down. For about 7 minutes.
Then visual test.
Waiting for about 15 minutes, in to the doc, a young Indian with a strong accent.
He had my file open, said, gosh, since 2010?!, examined my eyes very closely, had a test on virus even (new?) – all good, no conjunctivitis, just extremely dry eyes.
He asked me to show him what I take, opened a drawer, took out 3 samples, said, I tested these, they´re good, try them.
Me: I get that at the pharmacy?
Yes, but they´re expensive …
I know….
He turned to a box, gave me another big bunch of samples of another product and smiled big.
I was out in about 30 minutes all in all, knowing my eyes are ok, thanking the staff there big :-)
And I won´t need to buy anything for my eyes for months – and I guess I´ll try to get him, be there a next time (sorry, Dr. L)!
Sometimes you´re just lucky, huh?

That's good news Iris, thankfully my last eye check up was all good too, such a relief oui :)
