So yesterday arvo we drove to the city and opened the evening then with the yummiest burger in the world, really, how do they do this?!
We paid the Moon & Sixpence a visit, all got decorated...
I really tried to get the vibe of the new year, I even got proper earrings!
To be able to make it that long... old peeps, right?
We had a look at the menue and... surprise, big surprise!!!
Yes! Chips with mayo!
But, alas. Never did we have anything as fatty, plain awful. You wanna have that in yum, go to Germany.
With full tummies off we took...
Still in hopes of the spirit, see Ingo at the end of "happy new year"?
Sounds like something went wrong, huh, but let me show you...
Ahhh, the beautiful skyline of Perth.
And here, I come to terms with Elizabeth Quay, huh?
Ingo´d read there is a firework for the kids at 9, so we took the ferry and headed to South Perth.
There were lots of kids, we enjoyed the view.
When can you do this in thongs, huh?! Here in Perth you can :-)
Who would know these things will make life a tad frustrating later.
9... 9:10... 9:15... disappointed kids, disappointed us, no fireworks!
The ferry rolled in and off we took back to Elisabeth Quay.
Still about two hours to go.
Despite it has been rather cool - I bought a jumper at Forrest Chase even cause my old one... filthy.
It was crazy, we thought the shop is closed. Wasn´t they let in people, one by one.
A lady, well, "lady"? was dismissed from prison and she loves to take stuff without paying hence the trouble.
Anyhows.
Brass? Checked my bag, nodded and then said no to my thongs.
Moon & Sixpence... where I´d just left in these... same!
Drunk girls in "better" shoes were allowed, not me.
I then said, please tell the man in the red shirt why I can´t join him.
And, bang, Ingo had to leave - sandals aren´t allowed there after 9. Drunks are, please can someone explain the world to me?
On we went to the place I always thought was a bit overstyled, The Bohème, and to them we were no problem.
The bartenders were dressed like... see title...
... Miss America was there, too, really well done that place.
We then went to Langley Park, like many others.
And. Could. Not. See. The. Fireworks.
Bummer.
I feel so sorry for Ingo!
At least we weren´t the only ones left disappointed.

No fireworks, that's a pity! We had a 15 min fireworks show tonight at 8.15pm at Shelley foreshore, not far from our house.

I remember the last time we were in Sydney the same thing happened Iris, NO thongs allowed after a certain time ☺ Shame about the fireworks but Aimee was there with friends, she said there was a lot going on. We had a real quiet new year's Eve, dinner and movie with sisters and off to bed as soon as the new year was in, ready to get up at 5am to head out to the airport!

Grace, haha who would guess thongs are hated in the evening! Up at 5am, now that is a start into the new year. Hope you picked someone up at the airport, not had to say goodbye...
Well, if fireworks were all you wanted, you could have had them almost anywhere here in the DMV, legally or not. :-)
