My Nose Is All Warm!

So. We went to REWE for groceries. One cash-out open, people queuing all the way till the next section!!!

So. I walk up front, address the cash-out-guy. It´s Fatty.

Fatty is not only overweight, his hair is all greasy. He is unfriendly, many a neighbour told me so, too.

I say, loud enough for him to hear, "can we get a second cash-out, please!".

No.reaction.Nothing.nada. I address him again. Same.

So. We put our baskets to the ground and leave.

The new EDEKA is our choice. No logic. No signs on the aisles. Beer and soft-drinks near the exit, wine on the other side, why, oh, why? We ran around, needed to ask, finally the job was done.

We stand in line. A staff-lady says to me, "with that little you can go to the smoke-cash-out".

We do. The lady in front of us has a "tad" more than a bit, so Ingo goes to the empty self-cash-out.

You know. We used that in Perth often, Big W, Woolies...

We use that in Braunschweig, IKEA, hardware-store, works the same, one person scans, the other puts the goodies in the bag, the first one pays, done. A staff-person stands in front of it, facing you, for help and control.

 

Haha. not so at EDEKA. The staff stands behind you, ergo cannot see what you are doing.

To prevent stealing stuff you can pack only when all goodies are scanned and lay in a tray.

Nothing may move. Only then you can pay. Only then you can pack, it takes, hence, forever. Or would because...

Ha, no, wait! We wanted to make goulash again and had a bottle of wine!

Wine means staff has to check if you´re 16+.

After I payed (with PIN) Ingo was "allowed" to pack up. And then...

The doors (IKEA etc has no extra-doors) would not open.

Someone said, you need to scan the bill. So I went back and got that darn piece of paper, but we didn´t find the scanner!

Until another customer from the normal checkout, hence behind us, saw the scanner and helped us - you cannot see that thing once you´ve paid.

WHAT BIG NONESENSE IS THAT?!!!!

They invented the wheel a second time, but with crooks and bumps!

Back home I was exhausted. So much so, my nose was all warm! (Usually it´s cold like a dog´s one come the cold half of the year - also inside.)

And certainly! You come from the cold into a hot store - the staff sits in T-Shirts - you (we at least) wear glasses and a mask, glasses get super foggy, Ingo´s, mine, I tested anti-fog-towel, go all wet, you hardly can see.

What a joy. Not. At least my nose stayed warm from all the stress for quite a while.

Ingo says, it´s a sign of good health with the cold nose - why? Do you know?

We made yum:

3 hours on the stove, meat falls apart on your tongue... hmmmmm...

Henry 🦁? He´ a little concerned...

 

He sees but fields, where will he land, will the pupil find him? Will he land where other animals will toy with him, oh, nooo.... Is this dangerous or plain crazy like a flying Elephant?
