2019 Grace & P took us to Yanchep NP, where I "on the run" took a pic of this mural made by the Nyoongar people.
Before we started Frank, our maintenance guy at our Caravan Park, caught me, asked where I´m going and advised me to take more sunscreen.
Hence I ran back and was late. Say, 2 minutes. Me. Grace sure made fun of me 🤣
I still wonder if the little blue bird P tried to show me whilst Grace and Ingo took endless pics of a huuuuge spider (brrr) existed or if it was a joke or test even?
Will I lie and say, "ohhhh cute!"?
No. I never saw it.
At the pub P called me to join him at the bar and directed me to the window. Oh, no. Blue bird again?
He smiled like a nasty, lille boy, tipping me on the shoulder making me turn around.

Mae, it´s a serious subject.
1995 was my first visit to Australia and it was tough, seeing how the Aborigines "live".
Alcohol is a very huge problem as they fail to build it back, like the Indigenous peoples of the Americas.
Problems finding education and hence proper jobs...
1999 we saw huge progress, but even 2019 I saw sad scenes.
I think art helps them big.
You should visit and hear them play the didgeridoo - Ingo has one from Alice Springs - he should practice (I´m too dumb!).
answering your request by an example : "the minister says it is not hisfault and shifts all the blame to the selection committee". I thini it's possible to use the expression "carry the can" too which is heavier than a hat. Anyway i like your murals, especially the first one in aboriginal way

About the Australian natives: there are many books & documentaries about their lives and the rough way they have been driven out of their traditional lifeways. I'm especially interested in the way their art has developed from private, inside and ephemeral works to a more western and commercial version.

Mae, there are luckily many museums and other venues spreading the art. Grace and Sami sure are a source for this! :-)
Back "in the day" art was not so important, at least in the places we as young travelers visited...

Very humid and stormy today as the hurricane formerly known as Henri turns around and comes back bring heavy downpours. This has been a very wet Summer. Arty Henry is very cool.
I remember that was such a hot day Iris. There really is a small blue fairy Wren, it is so sweet but moves around so speedily it's easy to miss, next time 🐦
