Found this at Dora´s place - this is not about my name, but about how confident a woman should be and how much FUN she has!
She states men only get old when they stop looking.
My W (aged 81) admired my red sneakers, so.... not old!
(My glasses are not that fancy, of course, so the sneakers do the job!)
Feels like my life is left-overs atm and at the moment is way too long.
Hence FUN should really come around!
Art wise just this again...
More street finds.
I added "my hand" as asked for :-)...
And Peanut, oh, Peanut...
And I got a postcard - post to come, it was from... my Niece!!! Boy, she just was a baby in my lap and now she writes a postcard!
A friend from Perth "came over" for a nice FB-chat, oh, I sure miss him. All of them, when can we come back?!
Dumb me revealed we have a billiard table. He has a huge one and now I know next time there is no excuse to not play. Hups.
All in all, though...
I think it´s a mixture of it all.
I think it´s a mixture of it all.
No summer.
No job in sight.
Frustrating.
I applied at a company I did not feel good at. And hope, kinda, they don´t want me anyways.
I could walk there, though.
Maybe I should really think of doing something totally different.
But what?
It´s frustrating.
With Corinna torturing us... the world has gone mad.
For once I would say I´m depressed.
But I will not take meds, never ever again.
Maybe I ask my Bro for some WEIRD, BIG glasses! And have FUN.
Henry 🦁
That´s a German saying for .. this is my "thing". "None of your business". "My mood".
And this, indeed is a Wolters-truck, a Braunschweig beer 😉
I´m OK, don´t worry.
Oh. And a note to last post:
My MIL installed WhatsApp on my phone.
Yes, I´ve heard bad stuff about it, but I don´t share important things there - and... where is our data safe anyways these days...

The red sneakers look comfortable. Red is striking. Looks like a nice fruit mix drink. Sure looks healthy.
Yes, the sneakers are comphy - I am too old for fancy shoes, "LOL". I just don´t care no more!
The drink was OK. I just cannot throw food away. My parents grew up in WW II and ... food... W went hungry back then, too. If still edible I eat - or drink.
Oh I love Iris Apfel, I admire her confidence and wit so much, will have to watch the whole documentary. Why is it that left overs can sometimes be even tastier than first time around 😊 Your red sneakers do look super comfortable, number one factor for moi also. I'm really sending summer vibes your way Iris, I'm sure you must have a few warm days hiding away there still 🌅
I feel your blues - same here ... all those small things growing and growing ... Now I share some advise, I normally never do, least of all in the comments; delete if inappropriate, but here goes:
Remember to take care of yourself, and get air and sunshine and a walk every day. Walking in the daylight works wonders for a troubled mind.
Dangblasted Bridges this time around ;)
Grace, I never knew her, such a fun lady and yes, I´m really too old for fancy shoes, I just don´t care much no more. Sneakers and skirt, hey, why not? 🤣 Yes, some warm days would be nice. What a shit#y summer! And no Perth, either, what a year....

Charlotte, thank you I take any advice, and yes, I also roam around in bad weather, it´s still good and a thousand times better than any meds!
...Iris, the designer has some wild glasses! My father told that you could always look, but you couldn't touch! I would rather eat the fruit than drink them. Your journal is amazing. Hi Henry.
Those red sneakers make a fabulous statement. You would know instantly that the wearer had character.
Love that video. Age is an attitude for sure. Some people get old and some just age. But we all age-that can''t change. I want to be someone who just ages. You've got to keep moving and trying new things. Your shake looks yummy. As do your left overs. I love left overs. Some things are better that way. Have a super T day my friend. Hope your day is going well since it is later than at my house. Hugs-Erika
Tom, the glasses sure are something. The fruit was a bit... overdue, so ... nah, better mix it with milk and spices ;-)
Thank you and Henry says hi back!
____
David, I take that as a compliment ;-)
____
Erika, I want to become like her - a person fun to be a round with :-)
Yes, left-overs are al... mostly always yummy!
The day is going OK, hope yours as well, hugs from here! X
Great Video, Iris. I love the red shoes and your wonderful looking fruit drink. Your journal pages are fun - you actually have a very interesting life and things are going to work out well in the end. There have been all kinds of blips like this in history - things come back. Fun post as always, Iris, I love how you write! Happy T-day
Great red shoes. I saw a movie called “the Red Shoes” when I was a kid. It was scary! IF you are tired of leftovers why not cook less food the first time?
best… mae at maefood.blogspot.com
My mum always said some people are old in their minds and ways, I now know what she meant, you have to keep your mind and body active , I always feel so much better when I take a walk, we never waste food either and sometimes have the same thing two days running or make it into some other dish., we were bought up by parents who were teenagers in the war so nothing was ever wasted.
I hope you get a job eventually that you will enjoy, some times it’s good to try something different. I love your red shoes, they look very comfortable, I can’t remember the last time I wore anything with heels although I have quite a few pairs stil, I keep them just incase, ha.ha
Happy T Day
Jan
The red sneakers look cool and cooler with the beer! Cheers!
Love the shoes! I often cook twice as much so I have a meal for the next day!
Those red sneakers really make a statement and the video is fabulous, having confidence and feeling young is the key 😀. Leftovers are always good but that goulash sounds yummy too. I'll take a beer please although your smoothie looks very healthy. Happy T Day wishes! Hugs Jo x
I did see that iris video- what fun and spunk- love it!! And I love your red sneakers- my favorite color:)
I need to make a veggie smoothie now too;)
Wonderful journal art. Sending you some of our summer heat (hopefully) and happy vibes. happy T day!
Red is a great color and definitely makes a statement.
We eat a lot of leftovers in our house. It saves time cooking for sure.
Great journal pages.
Happy Tea Day,
Kate
Oh I want your red shoes! Your drink looks good as does your left overs. I always enjoy seeing your art journal. Have a great day today.
Love those red shoes! I always like having leftovers. It's so much easier ;) A job close enough to walk to would be nice I would think. I wish you well :) Happy T Tuesday
Love those red shoes. also love the fruit drink you made. Love your calendar pages, too. I never have leftovers. I'm too much of a piggy, I guess. Thanks so much for sharing your shoes, your calendar, your video, and your fruit drink with us for T this Tuesday, dear Iris.
We eat leftovers pretty often, although I do try to "repurpose" them (do something a little different the second time) but that doesn't always work. We had four children and lots of company when we were younger and even after all these years I still have trouble fixing "just enough" for two people.
I would like to trade you some of our way too hot weather for some of your cooler. Maybe mix it up so we'd both be "just right." )))
There's nothing wrong with leftovers! We have them often since I tend to cook for a crowd (still not used to the smaller size of the family) it seems. I love your journal, very unique and of course I especially love die Maus und den Elefanten. Good memories.
We use WhatsApp for keeping in touch with our daughter in Germany (and other friends and family). I like it, but that's really all we use it for.
Not finding a job sucks, but having a job that you don't enjoy sucks as well. It's a fine line. I remember that I sometimes applied for jobs at companies that I didn't feel good about and then was relieved when they didn't want me. It's difficult when you really need a job and it's hard to find one. Good luck!
Your red sneakers are awesome! Fun planner. I saw a new visitor to my garden the other day. It must be one of Peanut's cousins! Love your planner. Blogger does suck, but it's the easiest platform to use. The blue elephant looks cute does he have a crush on the Maus? Happy T Day
I'm sorry you are feeling depressed. I hope taking a peek at those very cute red sneakers bounces you up a little bit. It's hard to be depressed when you have such cute shoes. But seriously, maybe it IS time to consider something completely different. It doesn't have to be forever, you know. There's no rule that you can't keep looking for a job while you are working. In fact, some say it's better to find a job when you already have one. And it's a little cash coming in, some structure. Maybe part time, even if it wasn't something thrilling. Who knows -- you might learn something there that would help?
Big Sis!!! I came back to check on the ABBA video just in case you responded to my comment then lo and behold, MY COMMENT DID NOT POST LAST TIME! OMG! So so sorry! I hate it it, I feel like I was ungrateful that I did not say thank you to you and Ingo for such a very thoughtful post! But glad my email went though to you :)
That fruit shake is super healthy! Oh dear big Sis, I started to eat a healthier and said byebye to rice which is very addicting for me since 2 months ago and so far I have lost 28 pounds now. I had to because I reached 276 lbs already last June and I'm not very tall so that's too too heavy for my body.
Hugs from a rainy morning here in the Philippines!
PS Those sneakers are GORGEOUS! Reminds me of the shoes of the Pope in Rome :)
flying by to say hi and happy t day. OH and I like the red tennis shoes. Looks like something I would like to wear.
Nice shoes. What is in that shake? Is it apple and carrot? I used to buy juices from a stand in the city, before covid, they had a range of cut up things to choose from and my favourite was apple, pineapple and watermelon juice. They would take the pieces and blend them while you watched.
Nancy, me, an interesting life? LOL. I hope things will work out. Thank you for your nice comment :-)
____
Mae, I remember I saw "The Red Shoes" as a kid, too! But can´t really recall what it was about.
Aw, well. leftovers ain´t that bad. It´s difficult, when you are only two small eaters...
____
J, yes, you are as old as you feel! My parents were kids in the war, no wasting of food.
I do have some shoes with heels I´ll have to wear when applying for a job - I´ll have to learn again, LOL!
____
magiceye - a cool cheers from here :-)
____
RedPat, it´s always more than enough food and I never oimagined these shoes would be such a hit!
____
Jo, I bought the red shoes twice, as the second came in for half price - glad I did and that lady indeed is SO COOL.I still have goulash today 😁
It´s summer - beer-time! x
____
Linda, yes, that´s a very cool lady! My sneakers by now blush, LOL.
Please try haerder with the temps - 12C right now, brrrr....
____
Kate, yes, the sneakers seem to be a bummer. I´ll make heaps of waffles today. Enough for the rest of the week :-)
____
Nicole, the shoes and calendar say thank you :-)
____
Divers and Sundry, these shoes, LOL. Yes, walking to work again would be nice.
____
Elizabeth, red sure gets everyone, LOL. I still have goulash today. And it´s Wednesday already. And I shared with Ingo, too.
____
Sallie, yes, I turn leftovers into another dish mostly, too.Anything else is too boring, right.
Mixing temps would be SO GREAT, it´s too cold again today.
____
Carola, leftovers are easy, right, it´s just too often atm! Die Maus is a MIST every Sunday :-)
I have whatApp actually only for contact with three people!
Gladly I don´t really need a job as I have two apartments I rent out. A "good excuse" to be picky....
____
CJ, the shoes start to make me laugh! Ohhhh hi Peanut-cousin! Thank you, the planner is fun to make.
Die Maus and the Elephant are a couple since 1971 :-)
They show up every Sunday for lunch-time and many adults still watch (maybe even more adults than kids who, like my Nieces only watch Netflix "on demand"....)
____
Jeanie, I´m OK again. It comes and goes. But the shoes are lifting me up always :-)
I´m so afraid to not "make it" in a new job, that´s a pain.
___
Lille Bro :-)
Don´t you worry, blogger just sucks big now (can´t even edit my blogroll!)
Wow, that´s 14kg?! That is awesome... or... scary? Define "not very tall", I´m left with but 1,56 (lost 6 cm due to scoliosis).
We had heavy rain yesterday, too, I went outside and enjoyed BIG!
The Pope wears red sneakers?!!!! What?! Does he jogg around? Nice pics turn up in my head now, LOL!
The Swiss Guard standing there, greeting a jogging Pope, wonderful! Maybe some ABBA-song helps him find a rhythm. Sorry, but, LOL, wouldn´t that be just great?
Hugs from another too cold summer day. 12C... really?!
____
Sharon, the shoes really seem to be a hit, LOL!
____
River, I can´t believe that with the shoes!!Funny how some items stand out in a post!
Yes, apple, banana, carrot, just what I found in the fridge!
We still - I think - have such a fruit-stand where they mix fruit/veggies up for you, but I´m too frugal these days. Boy. I´mm getting old and un-fancy, I guess! And I don´t care (see video above).
Thank you for sharing that trailer. It made my day watching Iris Apfel. And the things she said were so funny. I love her confidence and style. But your red sneakers are eye catching too! You have style, girl! And you have coloured specs.
Your smoothie looks interesting. (I have no idea what it tasted like of course, but with apple and carrot it can't be bad.)
I'm sorry to hear you are feeling blue. The dull weather doesn't help. I hope you get a job soon, something you like doing and not far from your home. Or something really mundane for a short while, like stacking shelves at the supermarket. A friend of mine who is a social worker, was overworked at a certain point and handed in her notice. She got depressed sitting at home. She became a mail deliverer (on foot) for the Royal Mail in Bristol. She did that for more than a year if i remember well. Just something to get you up in the morning and out of the house for a while.
Happy belated T-Day,
Hugs,
Lisca
