An Arm

... it´s about a, well, a bagpipe. And a Cordon Bleu. And fingers. Arms, legs.

About coming out just fine 😁 Taking life with humor.

I fell. Real bad. Like real bad, and no, not the second mouth story (though I hit my leg aka knee quite with force, too).

I fell on hard ground back in the day, wanted to get up, full weight on my arm and something moved... my bone, in fact. I broke it and helped it along a bit more to the side....
Long story short I got a bone infection and the scars looked horrible - but my arm and hand were saved!!! Thank you MHH!!!
The best doctors over there! Also fun ones.

I really... really do have "fond" memories of that place. Well and horrible ones, too, of course, seeing all the AIDS and cancer patients.
AIDS back then had no cure.

The scars looked like a Cordon Bleu that was to be put in the pan!
Eww. Ingo wanted to take a pic and I sadly said no.

This was 1994 and 10 years later my T stared endlessly at the scars - how do I dare run around like that?!
It was a very hot summer day, 5th floor, huge windows, no aircon.
Volkswagen allowed us casual clothes always, hence.
I don´t care, scars just show you made it through, right?

My T, always hectically hiding his left hand after staring at my scars lifted his hand.... two fingers nearly gone, work accident.
I said a bit too harsh, "now, THAT`S it?! You can still do everything but poke around in your nose!"

We became friends. And we still are. WhatsApp every day.
And he even now wears a ring on that hand!

Ingo went on my nerves. And I mean it! He bought a bagpipe and he has no talent whatsoever.
T loves bagpipes, so I asked him if he´s interested in getting it - clever move, huh?
Or... not so much.

When we brought my avocado-plant to T to take care whilst we´re on holiday I asked how it´s going with the bagpipe.

Silence.
A stupid grin.
"I totally forgot I have missing fingers - I cannot play it..."

We had a good laugh. 🤣
Yes, we did laugh.

Oh. Thanks to Corinna I haven´t seen T but via monitor in 2 years.
(He still "works" as my teamleader and helps me out on the job-hunt, be it checking tech-stuff).
He´s Ingo´s age and sometimes we met at IKEA for brunch - I miss that.

Thank you, Charlotte, that was a journey to the 90´s.
When my Mum yelled at me I am supposed to think POSITIVE thoughts, otherwise I´ll loose my arm.
Worked.

Peeps, think positive thoughts.
I can tell it works.

Henry 🦁

Reckon this might be over soon (hello, job!).

My worst injury was broken ribs. It hurt to breathe, to cough, to laugh...

But laughing needs to be done :-)

Clever take on that prompt, Iris. I saw some clever ones on EC's blog, too. Theirs didn't have clever photos like yours, though.

...Cordon Bleu was a favorite of my mother, she made it so often that I became sick of it. I recently cut my finger with a power saw, it now a bit shorter.

It is always good to find a real friend, isn't it? A clever story to match the arm and a leg theme. I hope your week is going well Iris. Hugs-Erika

Yum on the sandwich. So it seems that you fall a lot. I too fall a lot and I was told it was due to the lupus I share with my body. Stay upright my friend.

The sandwich looks delicious.
I don't remember anymore how many fractures I got since September 2007.

Elizabeth, thank you, oh, we had "fun" ;-)

Nicole, well. That was 1994. But, yes, I´m clumsy, I broke so many plates and glasses, it´s a pain! We have plastic now, mosstly - not kidding!

Black Knight, that is a Schnitzel, kinda, with cheese and ham - and yes, YUMMY!!

A very clever take on the prompt. Bagpipe music always makes me cry.

Excellent use of the prompt.

That's funny about the bagpipes and no fingers. I am glad your arm and hand were saved after the bone infection, must have been a nasty fall.
I told my daughter once about positive thoughts.
She said "why keep buying lottery tickets? You don't win."
I said "think positive!"
She said "I'm positive you won't win." Ha Ha.
But I still buy them.

P.S. very clever way to use the prompts :)

Once I fell smack on my chest in the supermarket because I tripped over a box. It knocked the breath out of me. I was holding 2 bottles of jam in my hands and surprisingly, they were not broken. Went for x-ray and found no broken bones but suffered terribly pain and sleepless nights for almost 2 weeks due to the trauma from the impact on my chest. Grand pose by Henry.

Charlotte, me, also, argh, it´s rather "noise" to me!

messymimi, thank you :-)

River, Ionce bought a lotto-ticket.
I didn´t win ;-)

Nancy, oh, weee. You took more care of the grocery than yourself there!

Scars are your badges for battles well fought and won. And I hate bagpipes. Those would have to go!
