Then by law his company has to provide.

At my old company coffee, water, tea... for free.
My Brother has a little shop - coffee, water and orange juice for free for his staff.
I, not knowing what´s to come, took advantage of this but once:
I took a milk-coffee. Fancy. Why the heck didn´t I choose "Wiener Melange"?!
The colleague I had to ask for where the water boiler is and that... ups, "may I take the last tea bag?"
He laughed and said, "no one will miss that!"
He caught me getting that milk coffee and looked like a proud Daddy. 😂

Safety is also a HUUUGE issue at Siemens.
Why? Someone might stand behind it... Don´t climb on chairs etc, etc. My Siemens teamleader had to give me a lesson via PC and I had to sign he did.
This has to be repeated once a year. 😲

Me working from home Ingo managed to add one of my monitors to the laptop - old monitors, one older than the other.
And I thank him BIG for this. But. No Wiener Melange, no sit/stand and those meetings are so exhausting.
I bet once you know the job working from home is GREAT - but after just two days...
So many systems I have to learn!
Word, Excel, Sharepoint with ALLLLL the sub-programs, Teams.... all the abbreviations they use.
And they interrupt you with meetings all the time.
I have but 3 1/2 weeks to learn IT ALL. I´m back to ...

You need to be vaccinated, have a positive negative test AND wear a mask.

Meetings are time killers if you are on a deadline. There were times I purposely worked an evening or midnight shift so I could get things done without being bothered by meetings. I was lucky I could set my own hours as long as I put in the required time.
Those tables are great. That would be wonderful if you had one at home.

I agree with Bertiebo, you are doing very well and will only get better.
We have the virus here again now, our state opened its borders and the people rushed through and brought the virus with them. Now I have to stay home again as much as possible, since I did not yet get my booster vaccination, not due until February.
I remember how boring the meetings were and at that time all of them were in person.
However I am sure you will do well.
My offices include water, coffee, tea, etc. Meetings are rare and depend on the time of the year.

Enlightened companies treat employees well, including food and drink and comfortable environments. Unfortunately here in the US that's becoming less normal. So many badly treated workers. I'm glad you found a good place.

A standing desk is great for your back.
No free water for Ingo, that is awful!! At the clinic we have a mini kitchen with a coffee machine, pods, milk, hot chocolate, tea, biscuits, crackers, cheese, other spreads for crackers and fruit.

Erika, I only had the faucet at Volkswagen, too, though our company payed for the coffee - I got it for free from a Volkswagen-colleague, always along with a nice chat :-)

It is so interesting to me to see where you work and how things are done there. You are doing great and I love your work area.
I like that adjustable desk. Wish I had one when I was working, I ended going to a chiropractor to get my back aligned and readjusted. Free water is good too, give the employees some perks and you have a happy workforce.

That's a great looking coffee machine at Siemens. Siemens seems to be very similar to HP (where I worked) and its offspring companies (where my husband is working now) - water, coffee is free, tons of meetings (urgh), free workout classes, desks that go up and down, charging stations for eVehicles - and those studpid safety trainings. They seem to be in EVERY company and workplace in the US. We had to do the same old stupid trainings at the school every year. What a waste of time!
Not a lockdown, just means I have to be careful wearing a mask wherever I go still and try to not have to go out too often until I get the booster.
Carola, yes, that safety-stuff - in the good ole days we used our brains! What a waste of time! Yes, they have a gym there, too.
Make people happy and they love working for you. All empty these days.

River, oh, good!!! I always keep a huge distance or turn away if that´s not possible, and mask on.
yeah I think I'd rather take water from home in a reusable bottle than buy more plastic new bottles.
You'll get the hang of it -- and you can practice at home till you do. You're a smart woman. you can do this. I'm impressed with their safety, ergonomic and other standards.
