... death ...hopefully not!!!!
(Found this mini-bell-pepper in a bell-pepper!)
I prepared.
No idea if Siemens has a canteen and even if so I don´t like to spend so much money on food - at Volkswagen I would have to pay 50% extra being an external, a "guest" - 16 years! - and the food always was way too much, reckon it might be the same here.
Also I like to know what´s in my meal.
And now... well... I can prepare! And I did:
See. I was 4 years old.
My Grandma got a fresh ale, cut. In the pan. And parts of it jumped out, in front of my feet and I screamed in terror! They moved!!! The nerves were still "alive".
My lille Niece can get the same volume, Mum ran upstairs to check on me back then and boy..... I got a reason to scream... We call that "Arschreise" - you get bet up for screaming over nothing.
I was never allowed in the kitchen no more.
Bro learned to cook and bake... me. Not.
There were more incidents where heat and fire were involved, and me screaming... so...
NOW!!!! NOW!!!
It sounds so silly.
But I felt So.Darn.Proud!!!
Just now - I need to share, to get it out! Maybe you join me with similar "adventures"?
Carrot-bread, Pizza- and also ham-muffins, hey, no worries!!!!
Chicken with broccoli, hey, why not - do I need a recipe???
Nope.
All in one session, too!
With my BOSE and ABBA.
Loosing my job (and Corinna) was one of THE BEST THINGS THAT HAPPENED IN MY LIFE!!!
I grew!!! Not fat, but as in I LEARNED!!!!
I learned to LIVE!!!!
A bit of art, and all the ... cooking, healthy stuff, made by hand, by heart 😍.
Do you know the feeling when you really are... I was not risen like that, always be small.... but now I feel ...
BIG!!!
I manage the heat, I manage the oven, I can cook, I can bake!
Thanks to Jamie I need no recipes, just ideas.
When Ingo comes home and really says, "hmmm, this smells good in here"...
... and then even likes it!!!
I hope for everybody to get that feeling of being proud of yourself, even if others might say, pfffft. Cooking, baking, heat, no big deal.
To me it is!!!
It is wonderful.
Ingo tried for years and years, but I needed to get there by myself.
Thank you, F.H. for throwing me out.
This made a huge, positive part of my life!!!
Defrosted and filled the freezer, so I have food for a month at work.
And.It.Was.FUN!
Henry 🦁 ... my cousin was faster today!
Do you like to cook and bake?

I've been cooking and baking for so many years that I have forgotten how long, and I have really enjoyed watching your cooking skills growing like they have. Yes, losing your job really was the best thing for you - but only because you put in the effort and have done things yourself. You've done really well, so, Congratulations on becoming a Cook! :)
Thank you, Margaret!
Some things in life probably are meant to be.
And I am glad I´m no one who gives up.
Thank you for joining me on this "ride"!
I do not cook. That's what a microwave is for! :)
Slack, you ;-)
Ever worked in such a factory? I did. Ewww....
Take care you don´t eat additional protein from spiders, cockroaches and such ;-)
In our house we both cook and enjoy it, and we are quite creative too. But only Miriam bakes. It's not something I have ever done and she was taught by her mother and her older sisters at a young age. Perhaps it is never a good thing to lose a job, but it does open up your life to new possibilities. I think you have proven this! Good luck with the new job and your own, homemade lunches.
David, yes to both and yay for you enjoying making your own food, too!
There is a time and reason for everything and losing your job is one positive thing. You rose to the situation and you got to where you are by your own effort. Learning to cook and getting good result and feedback is a nice feeling. I too was not allowed into the kitchen but somehow because of my interest, I learned to cook and bake. I feel good to see people enjoying what I cook.
...you look like a creative cook to me! Enjoy your weekend Iris.
Arschreise, another word to build my vocabulary 😺 I don't like to cook, but I love to bake. Good that you are able to put together food to take to work for lunch. Eating out at work gets expensive. Enjoy your day!
Nancy, oh, why were you not allowed in the kitchen?
Glad we both found joy in this sector anyways!

Tom, thank you and dito, to a nice weekend!
____
CJ, LOL 🤣
Now I feel like a pro-German teacher!
And yes, I hope they all bring their own food and I don´t throw myself out with this!
To a great day!
The food looks good!
Delicious food. My favorite is "broccoli" (in Italian language. Brava!!!) but not with chicken.
A very good outlook. You have come a long way with cooking and baking you should be proud of yourself.
magiceye, thank you.

Black Knight, it was and is great, still left overs today :-)
Your complete change of mood and attitude is amazing. As you mourned your job for all those months, I was sympathetic but would not have expected this new view of your experience! I very much hope the new job will be all that you expect of it.
best... mae at maefood.blogspot.com
It looks yummy. But the story of something screaming in pain from the pan terrfifies me even today. Poor things! Happy Friday!
Yes, you can be very proud of yourself! Well done you!! Look at you now, cooking all that lovely stuff. Well done.
So you don't have to eat in the canteen. You can bring your own muffins and whatnot.
When do you start your new job? Monday? Looking forward to hearing all about it.
Take care,
Have a lovely weekend,
Lisca
I am truly delighted to see your new and improved attitude. I think this job was a life saver for you.
I worked in a factory for years. We got 30 minutes to eat. If you ever meet me, you know I can't get through half a sandwich in 30 minutes, so I never ate at work. No time and I got lethargic after lunch, too. I applaud you for preparing food for yourself on your job. I found cafeteria food at our plant was WAY too expensive, too.
The food loos great! You've come a long way, baby! :-)
Oh, I am so glad that you got over your paranoia and got involved with cooking. It is so therapeutic and tastes good, too. I love to cook and serve the food beautifully.
Nicole, thank you :-)

Mae.... I thought I stayed positive?
____
Erika, yips, it was horrible indeed!
____
Losca, thank you - if I´d known it´s that easy...! I start on 22nd. More time to prepare :-)
____
Elizabeth, I would´ve dropped without food, but, yes, I´m a very slow eater, too!
A pain, this expensive food - and so much. I said, "stop!", but the woman just kept going. It went to the bin, how sad....
____
Thank you, Bill :-)

gigi, yes! Better late than never, right?!
That food all looks delicious! And like you say - you know what is in it!
I've been cooking since I was a teenager so nothing new for me in that respect, but good to see that you've learned to cook over time, that carrot bread looks good.
Pizza muffin does look good.
Coffee is on and stay safe
Your foods look delicious! I used to like to cook and bake, when I had people to cook and bake for, now it is just me and baking anything means I have to eat it all. I can freeze some, that's true, but still it isn't as much fun so I don't bother much anymore.
RedPat, yes, and it was cheap(er), too!
____
Amy, thank you - I think most grow up learning how to cook and bake.
Back in the day I had to ask my "little Brother" to make food for me!
____
Dora, they´re yummy!
____
River, that, at first was a horror for me!
Cooking for myself, OK, if it tastes awful, bad for me. But what if I cook for others and it´s a pain to eat, LOL!
Thankfully I´ve overcome that!!! But the first time I was like really nervous and asked a thousand times if it tastes "OK"!
It can take a lot to overcome a fear of phobia and I'm so pleased that you were able to do that with fire and learn to love cooking so much. It's a very creative pursuit and you get to taste it, too!
Jeanie, ohhh, YES!!!
