At River´s

 

I´m joining River today. Words of her meme are highlighted.

Again a true story, I am not creative, sadly. But this was "fun". Or rather hilarious.

So we went to Forrest Chase, Perth...

 

 

 ... into the souvenir shop, I bought some fun stuff for my family. There were no reflections, when we stepped outside, the sun was gone, it was a sticky, grey day.

The sun in Australia is dangerous, so I hesitated a bit. My hat on or not?

I put it in the plastic bag I neither wanted nor needed. 

They insisted, maybe cause it is advertisement when I walk around with it, and I did.

The train was gone and hence arranged we have an excuse to have a beer at Moon and Sixpence, a pub that sadly is no more... oh, that T-shirt.

I think it was a guy from... Sydney? Or... Adelaide (kidding) - he gave me a nasty look.

 

Really, Australia is a beautiful country, we´ve traveled it all, but WA... best. And Outback.

Just, haha, Corinna, go visit!

 

Anyways, we always took turns and it was mine to get the beer.

The tables are tiny outside, under the palm trees. The trees shade the noise from the loud and busy Murray Street, I put my empty backpack and the hence not needed plastic bag (with the hat inside) on top and went inside.

Upon coming back the table was free for the two beers, well done, Ingo.

Smart guy put the plastic bag (with the hat) inside the backpack!!!!

See the chaos coming, huh?

 

In Australia you drink a LOT (of water) over the day, so I went inside to visit the loo before we went to our journey home, we always live in Madeley, it takes about 45 minutes.

Now the sun was out, I needed my not so fashionable hat, but... where is it???

Ingo suggested I lost it on the way to the loo.

I lost it before in our Shopping Centre, so... well, I went, checking, nope.

As before I simply asked at the bar, "Excuse me, I lost my red hat..." 

Panic broke loose! 

 

What I could not hear, the bar-guy yelled "lost redhead!!!", with a smooth "d".

To my excuse

a) it was loud in there and b) really?!

"WHICH SIZE????", he asked. I felt stupefied, a bit, are you kidding me?!

In front of my eyes there were all the beautiful hats we found at BigW and they were all ... well, too big for my small head, so I ended up in the kid´s section.

I had ONE beer, I was NOT drunk, right, but imagine I´d said, "well, kid´s size" - they might´ve called the police!

I said, "MY size!!!!" - and they calmed down.

They really thought I lost MY CHILD!!! And there is that super-busy road just outside.

Really, IF I had a child I would not say redhead, but boy/girl wearing this/that.

 

Ingo luckily remembered where the hat was (in the plastic bag he´d put into the backpack!) and came in waving with it, phew!

I adjust now and next time, if that happens again, I will say, "I lost my hat and the color is red, have you found it?".

If, someday we can get to beautiful Perth... we´ll have a beer for a dessert after or with a burger from fabulous Grill´d!
