This blog only very seldom has a political face, for a reason, too. My brain is running lose with what is happening in the world, with real fear.
It (my brain, not me) found the poster, the sign, I took a pic of in Darwin, 1999 - "The Adventures of Elmo in Grouchland" (great movie!!! We were the only adults without kids,
LOL - we helped giving the 100 raspberries, too! A diplomatic act btw!!).

could imagine many a fellow American is feeling like Elmo right now.
"Me-me-me, mine-mine-mine" is the constant saying of the leader of Grouchland, Huxley, praying and
doing... stealing...influencing... not caring about his "people"/muppets...
Remember: Elmo made it out of there and he made Grouchland a better place, too!!!
And maybe, hopefully, Europe is strong enough to help Ukraine without further help.
"We" must not give up. Our democracy, our freedom is at stake, too.
As is the one of the American people.
Who is a dictator? Who does research or just take? Who verifies who started the darn war between Russia and Ukraine, who is the aggressor, who is the victim, who, despite being much "smaller" is so strong and WHY?
Not because of greed.
Because of protecting VALUES like democracy, free will, independence, peace, freedom, and also a world where people can be happy and without fear.
Can you just IMAGINE bombs, bunkers, detonations and all that which is war?
Not knowing where or IF your loved ones are?
No water, no heating, no roof above your head, no bed etc, etc is said so easily. Darn cold winter.
No toilet, but maybe diseases where you need to "go"... how to keep yourself clean, your tummy "OK"... What if you get sick???

Yes, one is "used" to the pictures, to the ads from deepest Africa with hungry kids, far away. Women in Afghanistan "etc, etc"...

These are indeed frightening times, Iris. And they don't seem to be getting much better. Here, we do what we can to protest and hope at some point it will make a difference.

Yes, Elmo for president would probably be a good idea. Greed is a bad thing as not thinking till the end through something. All we can do is hope and wait. Terrible.
I am also afraid and I am much further away, but I have friends in Europe and I worry. Elmo is a favourite with so many people.
