When looking for pressies for Niece(s) in hospital (Wee One made herself home there, Niece told me), I stumbled upon some Braunschweig-lecture, oh, how can that happen to me, huh?! ;-)
The Alte Waage was completedly destroyed in WWII and was restored in 1994, also St. Andreas suffered in that stupid war.
I got a book on Braunschweig post-WWII and a map of after it, captured by Hermann Bollmann, who, btw, even went and drew New York in that style.
Where the buckle is you can see St. Andreas:
The "green" stuff that looks like grass marks ruins.
The yellow parts with the dots mark broken houses where the ruins have been cleared.
You can see see: Alte Waage - gone for good.
Makes one kinda cry.
Germans - I am one (half at least, my Mum came from Poland nearly on the Gustloff (that´s another story)) - started such a stupid WORLD-war twice!

If it wasn´t the (in this case) stupid/crazy Germans starting those WWs...

Who knows what the world would be like without the 2 great wars?
Unfortunately there are still wars going on -smaller - but still a lot of fighting, racism, misunderstanding, etc, etc!!
There will always be wars I think Iris, it's the way of the world. Men will always want something that isn't theirs 😑
