What Was Your Last First And When?
The other day I was at ALDI (or, as T and I call it "ALDIschönenSachen" like in "all die schönen Sachen", all the nice things, as we got often nice non-food stuff when we took a work-break to get something from there.
Btw... are you good at finding countries on the map? I´m not but with this map it´s even fun, thank you, ALDI.
I went for Tom Tasty-tomatoes and fell for the oldest trick, I really grabbed that Mac & Cheese-packet at the cash-out.
I´ve never been to the US (yet) and hence I never had Mac & Cheese before. It´s just not popular here (this one was made in Italy, funnily enough).
Since the temps went sadly down (14C!!) I went for this warming meal.
You can guess, with all the cheese it makes three meals.
What can I say... guess it´s like with Vegemite a bit: You have to grow up with it to love it?
I found it sadly (?) only "edible", despite the fact that I love cheese!
At least edible, right?
Here you can see:
I tried more than once, but...
I´m just not having it with Vegemite.
And Mac & Cheese will be history for me after the second and last lunch, too.
So... I had to get that old to finally find out the Mac & Cheese hype is not for me (and whilst I type and Ingo is at work I think I hear him saying, told you so! ;-)...)
Was your last first a hit? What was it and when? Food, event...

Let me fill you in on Mac and Cheese. Even the best of the packaged brands are good for one thing -- using the cheese on something else. If it's powdered, on popcorn. If it's wet cheese, in a dip. Mac and cheese is totally wonderful but not from the box. Find a good recipe with your favorite kinds of cheese -- I like blue cheese and gorgonzola (not everyone does) and sharp cheese. But find a recipe you like and give it a try before you write it off!
Trade Joe is a 2 hour drive and been there I believe three times. I usual get there two buck chuck wine. But now I would guess it four buck chuck.
Coffee is on
Jeanie, LOL, it was powdered and I have no idea how to put it on popcorn!
Popcorn here usually comes ready as sweet or my fav salty. You put it in the microwave and that´s it.
But, as I love those noodles I may try to make them "by hand"!
Dora, wow, you can just drive by, that´s crazy! Here you only get their products via ALDI.
Macaroni and cheese is scrumptious Iris, but I'm talking absolutely about home made macaroni and cheese only.. so easy to do using real cheese etc. Try it, you'll never buy packaged again ☺
Cauliflower Mac n Cheese is good!

All the best Jan
Thank you, Jan, and... it´s kinda "hard" to admit... I never had mascarpone before!
Sadly the link to the receipe does not work, nor did I find the receipe on the Wisconsin Cheese-site - do you still have it?
