This is "Al-Maashoof (Marsh Boat)" by artist Ayad Alqaragholli from Iraq/WA.
It is quite a statement! The WA coast evokes memories of the mashoof reed boats that navigate the Marshes in his southern Iraq homeland and represents the joy of the Iraqi people as the new life in Australia.

"Celest" by David Ball is a stargate that invites visitors to gaze at the sky in a different way as the work is such a frail architecture.
Must be something at night - on this day people used it for shade, though, which I think is clever despite it was a cloudy day.

The first one was one of my favourites.. I remember taking pics of the stones as well, we couldn't be sure could we 😀
Yes, Grace, it´s a beautiful one, and weeee... who knows, maybe it was some "serious" artist with the little stones :-)
I like that the kids built their little sculpture. Or maybe it was older kids -- like adults! Who knws -- but it's really nice. I love that first one especially. The second looks like Star Wars!

I admit: I´ve never really seen Star Wars. Once, when I was too young, so I never liked it...

I love Ayad Alqaragholli's statue. We have a few of them around Perth, there was one in that park I took you to that weekend before you left.
