Don´t Poop (Here)
Today I´d like to take you to the small town I grew up in, Seesen.
Just 8 km away Wilhelm Busch (you find some of his short stories translated to English here, too), a humorist, poet, illustrator, and painter lived there and wrote down the stories of Max and Moritz (amongst a lot of other works!).
Yep, me. In my old hometown (number plates have GS for Goslar there, as the town is too small to have it´s own) and me with BS for Braunschweig stops all the time to get out and take pics.
Oh, those darn people from "outside", huh?!
Sadly no one there I knew to meet (apart from family!) - I´m gone too long.
Well, but I stopped the car, right?!
As in Braunschweig it´s actually not allowed, so the artists don´t put their names on it...
Are you still living in the place you grew up in?
Do you still have friends from your childhood-days? If so, how is it like?
Taking part again in Sami´s COLOURFULWORLD Monday Murals.

That blade of grass in the last photo with the mole was in the right spot to make me laugh rather than just smile. These are all so clever and it's too bad murals aren't allowed. They make everything so much more beautiful.
I left my home town when I graduated from high school. I wouldn't remember anyone from my school anyway. I have one of those memory blocks I apparently developed after my grandparents died (grands raised me). When I buried them, my only relatives, I must have buried my memories of life there, too.
Yes, it´s very sad murals are rather called "vandalism" here! The really make everyone happier!
Oh, I met someone from my early school days at my Brother´s shop. I am 47 and I did not recognize him. Drugs... he looked like 70+.
What a sad story, do you never return? Are there graves? Well, I have to admit, I rarely visit my parent´s grave (since I have no car no more and even if, it does not help me - I have pictures right here and in the kitchen of when they were alive and kicking with joy).
Such cute murals Iris, what a pity they don't accept them. They are becoming so popular all over the world, I hear people travel to other countries to visit murals! Thanks for contributing.
I've been living in different continents from where I was born for a while, don't have any friends from that time, but have a few friends from high school who also live all over the world.
Yes, Germany is so not advanced, is it. Murals make so many places better, right.
Thank you for hosting this, I even have some more from Seesen...
Wow, still some friends from high school, that is great!
I just know of some who´ve died, one at age 16 even.
Nice little mural. I like it.
Thank you, the stories of Wilhelm Busch are quite fun, also.
Fun murals!
Thank you. Though Max & Moritz were quite nasty... ;-)
...'Not Here' made me laugh!!!
:-) Sadly too many really do not pick up after their dogs...
I love this post and the photos, too! Yes, I live in the town in which I grew up and still have some friends from that time. Mostly high school but a couple from much younger.
Wow, So have seen a lot of changes? I´m always astonished when I visit my Brother how the little town has new shops/different streets even, new zones...
Not here made me laugh too. We have the "poop" problem over here so you need to look where you are stepping. :)
Oh, yes, I lost a pair of sneakers already!!
Cute murals Iris!
Thank you, Lois!
I have to wonder. Do you have any desire to go back and live in small town.
Coffee is on
Oh, no, no way! I just am there to visit family.
The murals really brighten things up, I can't believe it's illegal over there Iris 😱 I grew up in Africa, till I was 22, and did keep up with friends I went to school with.. for a long time but then it all got too much of an effort for me, which is a shame ✨
Oh, that´s really sad, that you lost contact, Grace, but reckon that´s life?
Germany... full of stupid laws...
Oh boy!
I don't live near where I grew up anymore.
They are colourful murals.
I don't live where I grew up, but have kept in touch with quite a few childhood and school friends.
All the best Jan
