Hmm, nicht meine Lieblingsbilder heute! Ich bin ganz glücklich dass die Gartenzwerge etc. almählich verschwinden aus den Vorgärten hier und werden ersetzt durch schöne Skulpturen, Palmen, Zierbäumchen etc. Und leider verschwinden immer mehr und mehr Vorgärten und werden benutzt als Parkplätze. Ja, schade, dass Vorgärten zu Parkplätzen werden müssen. Schade, dass Menschen in Stadt A wohnen und in Stadt B arbeiten, und Leute aus Stadt B in Stadt A arbeiten und alle deswegen ein Auto brauchen! Ich will das nicht mehr! If that's what Kitsch is then I have quite a bit around my house, mostly inside, but some outside. I have a fairly large collection of gnomes and most of them live in my closed in back porch, with a few in the living room. They've all been featured on my blog at some point. I think the hi-ho gnome needs a coat of paint.
Oh, good thing we´re not all alike :-) I have Christmas stuff here all year round. But you have to look for them! And Lions (huhhh, surprise)... Yes, I agree, the Hi-Ho one is neglected!

The interesting thing about kitsch is the way tastes vary so much, that someone can like almost any example of it. For example I collect Mona Lisa parodies. Is my soap bottle where the soap comes out of her head kitsch? Yes. My Mona Lisa lampshade?
I have one (!), he´ll show up tomorrow. I often think about the dwarf having his pants down, showing his butt and putting that in direction of our darn neighbour ;-) Do I buy that? (No)
My mum had one of those gnomes with his pants down and bent over showing his butt, it was battery operated and when you walked past it would make a fart noise. I hated it.
